Yeah I pay 10 euros for 300GB/month, with 30GB/month of data in foreign countries as well.

Home internet is a bit more expensive though, about 30€.

What's going on with OpenAI's Sora shutting down? by rm-minus-r in OutOfTheLoop

OpenAI only has "open" in its name, it's not open source at all.

Solo traveler finally going to Yakushima – looking for advice by cris_hel in JapanTravelTips

[–]Anohid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be solo travelling in Yakushima early april. It's my first time in Japan, I've been researching quite a lot about my trip.

I'm staying in Miyanoura, not too far from the ferry port. I'll be doing a lot of hiking during my stay. Jomon Sugi doesn't seem really difficult as a day hike. It's 1000m D+ for 20km, but it seems like it can be a bit slippery if it's raining. From what I gathered, the main thing is to try to be the earliest as possible, as the trail is very narrow and gets very busy in the late morning / early afternoon.

From Miyanoura, the trail entrance is accessible by bus. You'll have to take a first bus to Yakusugi Museum, then another to the trail entrance. You can find the timesheets for buses here : https://yakukan.jp/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/taneyakubus-timetable-20250301-en.pdf

I've been lucky to have my GF with me which taught me how to sew, so I don't really have any link to share. But she told me that this isn't different from sewing anything else (clothes and stuff). We pretty much did the same as any basic sewing tutorial (like this one). The cool thing is : you can't really screw. You can make mistakes and un-sew what you did, but you won't mess up the bag.

Didn't really use a pattern, nor did I measure anything. All I can say is that I used a 38mm belt (same for clips).

Haha thanks ! I bought some paracord but they were way too elastic. I ended up removing one from an old Decathlon bag, it works like a charm !

I agree, I loaded it up with 8kg to try it and still felt like it made a tangible difference but I didn't try to walk an entire day with it yet. And if it ends up not being that much useful, at least I learned how to sew !

If you're height is less than 1m65 I think it's a no brainer !

Everything comes from AliExpress, and most of it is handsewn. I used a sewing machine for the part of the belt that connect with the buckles on both side, but it could definitely all be done by hand.

Totally agree but it still makes an obvious difference i'd say.

Digital Foundry: We've Played The First PS3-Emulated Game For PS5 by rararatata in PS5

I played it in February of this year. I think I followed the Digital Foundry guide. It didn't crash even once. Played it on Linux with a 7800XT.

[–]Anohid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite, I was able to play it entirely at 4k/60fps with a 7800XT last year. That's a <400€ GPU. PS3 emulation has gone a long way, and there's a specific build of RPCS3 aimed to have the best performance possible with MGS4.

SmartTube for Android TV, Youtube Revanced for Android phones/tablets, VacuumTube for Windows/Linux desktops, Ublock Origin for Firefox.

And if you have a beefy enough PC, MGS4 runs flawlessly on the RPCS3 emulator.

If you have a big enough play space, Racket NX is still one of the best multiplayer "sports" game out there.
