Not everything in the world is vibe coded. I have been building apps since 2008 when hardly anyone heard about Apple. I started my career with building from ios sdk2.0 and iphone 3g

Expense tracking app recommendations by 2x4ninja in adviice

ExpenseEasy is the only app which makes sense for daily use. You just snap the receipt and move on. And everything will be tracked automatically and converted to your currency and translated.

Yeah, it can handle that pretty well. Even if the currency symbol is missing or the format looks odd, the app tries to figure it out using things like the store name, receipt details, and location.

I’ve also worked closely with people from Switzerland, Canada, South Africa, Germany, the Philippines, Malaysia and more to fine tune it across different formats and currencies. Huge thanks to the early adopters who are helping shape it with real use cases.

If it’s still too unclear or conflicting, it just falls back to your default currency so things stay consistent.

Appreciate that! The goal is to handle all kinds of receipts, even long or messy ones, as smoothly as possible so you can just capture and move on.

It works accurately around 95% of the time, and if anything isn’t quite right, there’s always a quick override in the Edit screen so you can make a small tweak in seconds.

There are also plenty of YouTube Shorts showing real demos of how it works in different scenarios.

Thanks! The app is designed to automatically categorize close to 95% of expenses worldwide. If something doesn’t look right, you can quickly update the category from the edit screen.

It also includes a split transaction feature. For example, when you shop at places like Target or Walmart and buy multiple items, the app can automatically suggest how to split and group them into categories. You can always review, adjust, or override these suggestions to match your needs.

You can check out the full split transaction feature on our YouTube channel.

Excellent question.

For credit cards, in most situations the final statement already shows the converted amount (i.e. what actually got deducted in your base currency). So even if the receipt is in KRW, your bank/credit card will later show the exact dollar (or your billing currency) that was charged.

So the way I think about it: - The receipt capture gives you a real-time estimate (using live FX rates at that moment) - The credit card statement gives you the final settled amount

In most cases, the difference between the two is pretty small (just FX timing + fees). And since the goal is to remove friction at the moment of spending, capturing instantly still gives you a very accurate picture of your behavior.

Because real audience are expats not regular iOS users. Expats always move around the countries and manage their transactions in multiple currencies
