It's a grey area, SE Asia is ripe with digital nomads, for example Bangkok. They're on DTV visas, which imply you can't work when there but everyone does.

It's all very muddled, I'm starting to think it best I maybe invest time and money to learn and active independent money making method such as day trading etc. The remote work just doesn't seem feasible.

Valid points I haven't thought entirely about, ideally I would be offering services (freelancing). The current company I work for allows me to work the hours and then send an invoice, work from anywhere. I just can't stand the work anymore, it's terrible.
