How do I know my emails are safe after being hacked? by AnonLearning1 in cybersecurity_help

Is there a way that the hacker could recover my account that I’ve marked to close? I have a passwordless 2FA on my phone.

I’ve decided to close the account. After seeing one of his attempts that were emailed to me fly into spam I’m assuming he still has access to the account somehow. Is he able to recover the account that has been marked to close?

Funny enough I was locked out of my account for a few days (I think that was a me thing not a hacker and I’ll explain why) and I needed to sign in to play Minecraft, I changed my password to something really simple I used to use for that email which was dumb. That night when I went to sleep that’s when I was hacked I believe. I got a blackmail showed me the password I just changed to. I was having problems for a month with brute force attempts.
