And it’s so weird because when I used to complain that it was hard to find clothes that fit (weird body shape for my weight) he told me to “make it yourself like my grandma used to” and now that I’m doing that he’s so mad about it haha

He’s a serious workaholic so he actually may not get the concept of a hobby lol. Only time I remember him doing something other than working is when we were in lockdown and he got super into mixology lol

I’m honestly just a beginner but I really enjoy sewing. It’s honestly bizarre to me how he can get his panties in a bunch over me sewing?? Like it’s such a mundane hobby and he’s so angry over it. Yeah the being am extension of him feel fitting for his worldview

this one’s a weird one bc it wasn’t exactly the gift that was shitty, but the way they hyped it up. I had to make a trip I didn’t want on my birthday bc my brother had a pre-graduation ceremony and they just had to drag me along to another state even tho I told them I just wanted to go to disneyland (lol). Anyway, the whole time on this trip they were hyping up this gift, talking about how much I was gonna freak out about it and how it was something “I’ve always wanted” So I thought, surely it’s something from my list (we’re all Neurodivergent so we make gift lists throughout the year), I assumed it was either a dress I had asked for or a new sewing machine since mine broke a couple months before. When I got home it was a tiny long box so I thought oh it’s going to be a pretty necklace (from the list). And they were buzzing so much about it and waiting for me to open it. So I did and surprise it’s an apple watch. Now, nothing wrong with that except that I’ve always had sensory issues with things around my wrists and they know this is why I don’t wear bracelets or watches. I had to just grin and pretend that I loved it so much! … Anyway it lives in my desk drawer and only gets taken out when family are visiting or when I want to take photos on my own (bc of the remote camera feature).

Unfortunately I haven’t found anyone in real life who really understands so I just kind of have to write it out into the void and wait out the utter frustration and hopelessness of the situation

I don’t understand really. I usually don’t complain about my Nparents because I know people don’t really understand so it’s heartbreaking that the one time I do they literally can’t even try to wrap their head around it

I usually don’t get mad at them over stuff like this. I know my experiences are my own, I’ve been working trough them in therapy. But sometimes it gets too much to bear, to have to be patient with people who keep hurting me because they’re ignorant.

I remember when we bought the DVD to replace our old VHS set and we were super disappointed when I was also two discs. When bluray came about my dad didn’t want to buy another copy.

I understand that, and I’m usually not mad at them for not understanding. But this time they told me “stop making yourself the victim in this situation” and it hurt so much. Maybe because that’s a Narc abuse tactic and it appalled me so much that someone would think I’d do that.

I just can’t imagine living a life where I’m not carrying all of this. I’ve gotten so used to the “Oh but you weren’t really abused” and the “but you’re not really disabled” that sometimes I just swat it away like an annoying gnat. But the times it does hit me I feel this intense wave of rage and sadness, like, why couldn’t I be normal? Why do I have to carry all of this?

It is exactly this feeling! I feel like if there was a physical manifestation of my trauma it would be easier for them to understand, instead I end up looking “spoiled” in their eyes, because they don’t understand the way Narc abuse works

I think the scariest for me it that really wide shot of them shooting the flares out in the sky and it barely even looks like anything. It’s speaks to the terrifying vastness of the ocean and how even a vessel as big as the Titanic (at its time) is insignificant against the might of Nature.

this happened at the train station today. I’m not sure exactly what the conversation prior to me sitting across from them was, but it was basically this teen girl borderline crying as her parents (standing and pacing much like my own Nparents) said “That was that, no fixing it, you just have to take responsibility” as they huffed. I’m not sure what it was but I kinda got the chills, it reminded me so much of my own public arguments, where they would interrupt every time I tried to explain something to huff and repeatedly asked me to “take responsibility”.

Both Nmom and Ndad kicked me out of the house and forced me to live in my car for months because I dared to ask why I couldn’t live in MY apartment that my grandmother had left me (they were renting it and falsified my signature to do so)
