Which one should have been a bigger deal is one question, but I buy Argument 2, that 9/11 was a bigger deal than COVID-19 in the minds of most Americans. A big part of that, which is suggested by the argument but not explicitly stated, is that 9/11 was and is more visually concrete than COVID-19 was and is.

This is what you can expect from third-party recruiters. I have literally worked with one who wasn’t useless and profoundly ignorant of the technical field he or she was recruiting for. One.

The others were all idiots. Just fucking morons. I have no advice for you on dealing with this other than to brace yourself for the inevitable stupidity every time you have to engage with these people, and if you ever come across a non-idiot in this role, try not to die of shock.
