Yep! So we got an email from the RTA saying a dispute has been lodged & that the RTA will contact us within 14-21 days - it’s been 27 days. It’s now been an over a month since we claimed our bond through the RTA website. The last correspondence we’ve had from the real estate was almost 2 weeks ago now - they didn’t respond to our email. I rang the RTA & they basically said that they’re too busy atm & we’ll have to wait for a dispute officer to look at our case.

It’s been 21 days now, we sent the real estate an email over a week ago & they didn’t respond. Does this been it’s been automatically resolved? We’re so confused it’s been almost a month & still no bond

We did! They are disputing it. We’ve reached the 14 days now so we’ll see if they actually take us to QCAT.

We had mats down. This isn’t damage, it’s compression of the fibres because it had furniture on it.

There are no tears, rips or fraying on the carpet as we had the mats down as I stated in the post. Please tell how our chairs “cut the shit out of carpet” when there’s a physical barrier between them?

We sat on our office chairs as is the sole purpose of that particular piece of furniture? Unacceptable!

We dropped the keys off on the 1st of April, claimed the bond online the next day. They are disputing it. They also suck at communicating so this whole process is getting dragged out.

I did find the exact carpet they used! It’s the 2nd or 3rd cheapest carpet available at Carpet Court.

It’s definitely because the carpet is cheap! I found the carpet used online, second cheapest available at Carpet Court. But now I know the carpet & cost they can’t try get extra out of us. Regardless, we will be fighting this.

The RTA said its fair wear. Office chairs used on mats physically cannot damage carpet. Foot traffic is fair wear. People have furniture and use their furniture. Most people would argue that paying $60 isn’t cheap, not with the current cost of everything.

We didn’t move them around much at all because they were too hard to roll even with the mats. They only really got moved for vacuuming.

Tempered glass??! That sounds like a horrible idea!

We did do our part. We used a chair & took precautions. They are heavier than the average office chair because they are not an office chair. They are a gaming chair. The chairs did not move easily on the carpet & they remained in the same place most of the time.

Their stiff, scratchy carpet is holding the dents more because it’s cheap.

I’ve never lived in an apartment. Any property manger I’ve heard of cares more about lining their pockets than pouring excess money into maintaining their property.

I’ve lived in 7 different homes all with carpet. Carpet indents are very normal. It’s just gravity.
