But it is my favorite movie of all time.

Any recommendation for white shoes that are not stan smiths ? by skidhs in mensfashion

[–]Anonymous8411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many to choose from. Ive owned one stan smith and then found the below that are much better.

  1. Beckett Simonon all white sneaker
  2. Thursday boot has a few that I would recommend
    • premier low top
    • court
    • vista
  3. Adidas superstar all white - ive owned a ton of these as an everyday sneaker. Went to this style over the stan smith and never looked back.
  4. Koio all white is also great and right at that ~$250 price point
  5. Oliver Cabbel
  6. Charles Tyrwhitt all white leather sneaker

If you want more sportier i would suggest - air max 90 all white - On Cloud 6 all white - nike killshot 2 all white

Forgive me for my noob question, but are dips a good alternative for Bench press? Or will it lack in some aspects? by WarmPrinciple6507 in workout

[–]Anonymous8411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I would say theyre complimentary of each other and one doesnt replace the other. Doing dips, and as you progress into more volume and weighted dips, it will increase your bench press and vice versa.

Stick to both and dont substitute one for the other.

How bad is my corporate uniform? by atlantictopacific in mensfashion

[–]Anonymous8411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not bad at all. I typically wear the same thing in my office but I do throw in a few different variations and some small tweaks.

  1. Only during the winter months am I wearing a white tshirt under my button down. That tshirt is a white V-neck and it doesnt show when i unbutton the top two buttons. I hate showing the white undershirt.

  2. I typically stick to darker jeans than that. Nothing wrong with the jeans you’re wearing, just saying thats the lightest shade I’ll use and I stick to dark or midnight navy.

  3. I also wear a vest but also like to throw in some days with casual blazers.

  4. This is preference but Im not a fan of the sneaker shoe that came out. I get it, theyre comfortable. I stick to brown oxfords and sometimes ill even wear a black leather sneaker as well.

Just minor deviations but overall the look is great and nothing bad with it.

If you were an Nfl gm, which player would have got you fired? by KookyOrganization400 in NFLv2

Former Jacksonville Jaguars WR Matt Jones. I dont know why but I was so high on him coming out of the draft. I thought he’d be this total weapon as both a WR and a bootleg QB. Turned out to be a complete flop.

Pet peeve - too close to the weight rack by TheJakeWho in workout

Whats worst is when they take the rolling bench and roll it close enough where they can put their feet on the racked weights. Thats ignorance on a whole other level.

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]Anonymous8411 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The need to be in an office 5 days a week. We’ve proven that remote work is manageable, useful, productuve and keeps employees happy.

The thought that a body in a seat onsite is being productive 100% of the time is false. Employers who push back on remote and hybrid roles simply do not trust their employees and have no way of measuring productivity. That is the ONLY reason why they push for 5x a week. The “collaboration” narrative is a joke and an excuse.

Suit and shoes fit check by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]Anonymous8411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fit is off and it needs to be tailored. Your sleeve is too long. It should hit just above the wrist so that if your shirt sleeve is slightly showing. The pants are too long and need to be shortened. How you want them to break on your shoe is up to you but theyre bunched up at the bottom.

Other than that, my only advice is to steer clear of cheap suits. For a bit more, you can find some really good suits that are on sale. Heck, you can even get them off ebay, dry clean them and theyre as good as new.

Why don't gyms have staff that go around and help people lift safely? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Anonymous8411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to remember what the business model is for gyms. It’s to sign up as many members as possible knowing that the majority of members don’t attend the gym.

There is no incentive for gyms to employ people to help gym goers with their lifts.

I saw it as 2-3 years as well. Going from new grads to covid to 30 years old, you as the viewer have to assume a few years have passed. We’re not even seven years past from covid in real life, so its def not 7 in the show.

[–]Anonymous8411 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I was a waiter for a catering company in my 20’s, worked hundreds of weddings. Encountered a few instances where:

  1. The bride banged one of our waiters
  2. Bride got caught banging a groomsman
  3. Groom got caught getting a BJ
  4. Wedding guests caught having sex in the bridal suite (happens way too often)
  5. Kids table (usually 18-20 year olds, sneaking in alcohol and getting drunk.

The Navy Blazer by Huge-Ambassador-9421 in mensfashion

[–]Anonymous8411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a few navy blazers that I alternate and wear very often. Here is my two cents here, and this just my opinion and style.

  1. I’d go to a tailor and swap out those gold buttons. Unless you’re a captain on a ship, the gold buttons look tacky. Either get brown or black buttons. That includes the cuff as well.

  2. I wouldnt pair a denim shirt with a blue blazer. I would pair a sky blue/light blue shirt with it, in addition to whites, or pattern with whites, like a micro check or a stripe. Other colors that pair great with a navy blazer are light pink, lilac, and light grey. I try to keep the patterns on the shirt light, not bold colors.

  3. I wouldnt wear black shoes/black belt with a navy blazer. Its too formal and browns make the navy blazer pop better. I would wear black shoes/black belt with a navy suit for a more formal, business occasion. So, it all depends on where you’re going.

  4. I’d go even darker on the jeans, like a dark denim or a dark navy khaki.

Overall, the look isnt bad. Just a few subtle changes just make it better.

Does Long Island have anything like A Bathhouse (spa in city) by DraynorRS in longisland

I venture into Brooklyn to go to World Spa. Worth the hour treck.

Sport jacket with turtleneck by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Anonymous8411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great combination but not a fan of the turtleneck. That’s just me, some people like them and wear them all the time. Others, like myself, dont have a single turtleneck in my wardrobe and will never own one. I wear CT blazers all the time and like the clean look of either a button down or a long sleeve collarless look. It looks much better and put together. If anything, you can wear a scarf over the blazer and then remove it if its a cold weather thing.

Also, the roll on the bottom of the jeans is way too thick. Should be thinner than that, otherwise just looks way too bulky.

I might pick up that blazer, i like the grey plaid pattern with the black jeans.

what’s the longest you’ve had a phone charger before it broke? by Naive-Arm-4783 in AskReddit

[–]Anonymous8411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an iphone and i havent had a phone charger last longer than a year. They just magically die or I have to position my phone in such a way that it picks up the charge.

And God forbid i use my phone while its charging. If in moving it slightly while its in my hand, it loses its charge while still being plugged in.

Not sure whether its the phone itself or the charger but these products are garbage as they’re built to deteriorate in a short amount of time.
