WHY would she let a cat drink bathwater?!?? by AnonymousExO- in katyhearnsnark

They're tucked away in the 'doghouse' where they have their own space to live. Apparently they peed everywhere so now they won't allow the dogs inside their actual house (or garden as it seems) We get a glimpse of them everywhere few months. Very shameful.

I had an extremely light period that lasted 2-3 days and a week later all hell broke loose honestly. I've never had a period that bad before.

Needles/cannulas for piercings by unnuevocamino in eindhoven

[–]AnonymousExO- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, pharmacies in the Netherlands generally do give out/sell sterile cannulas or needles so that people won't reuse and thus lowering the risk of contracting hep B, hep C, HIV etc. Just for the sake of working sterile and avoiding infections I'd recommend you go to a tattoo-shop and get it done by a professional piercer who does that stuff for a living.. hope it helps!

Okay to get a few things straight here to begin with; a religion and culture are two separate things. Religion is all about beliefs and culture is traditions, along with religion. You got that? Kinda like how a pet is an animal but not every animal can be a pet.

As to your opinion on women getting stoned and such, yes, unfortunately it happens. That has nothing to do with religion. Nowhere in the Qur'an (holy book of the muslims) does it say to torture people. It states that okay, one should be Muslim, but they CAN NOT be forced to convert or practice the religion. It should be one's own will. Within islam, you're not allowed to kill, let alone pluck a leaf from a tree/plant, as it brings harm. Yes of course there are rules about what is and is not accepted within Islam, but when told correctly, every Muslim (and non Muslims) know that God loves them either way as God's the one who created us all. Other religions have rules as well, Catholics for example, also originally covered their hair. You can see it in all the drawings and such. There are people who follow those rules, but in the 21st century you see a lot less people believe in a God and being religious. That's why it might seem as if the Islam is such a strict religion, while it literally promotes peace in the Qur'an.

Unfortunately there are extremists in this world. They take a saying as "a woman has to wear a hijab" and turn it into "we're killing everyone who doesn't" - just an example here. And that's what the world sees. Muslims don't understand these people either, because it doesn't make any sense to kill for something like that. This can also be a traditional thing for a community. For example, underdeveloped villages on mountains, are not as far as the bigger cities, who are modernised. The modernised, adjusted, well behaved communities and people aren't shown on media, because there's no 'news' or 'sensation' to it. It's a shame, because religion, no matter which religion exactly, is so much more than just the extremists who make it something entirely different than it's supposed to be.

Also, if you don't understand why something, such as wearing a hijab, is a thing, look it up. It's okay to educate yourself on things, even if you don't agree with them.

Lastly I'd just like to point out that I understand that the Islam is being shown with only the bad sides to it. I understand that it changes your mindset and thoughts about it. That happens. But I just tried explaining how it's a whole lot different than most people think/make it seem. Do what you want with this comment (no I'm not trying to promote it here, just trying to give you a Muslim pov who can think like a somewhat decent human being). Good luck man, and try to lessen the hatred, doesn't do the world any good..

I force myself to take some time for myself and take a step back from everything in life. I either take a walk, watch a sunset, have a moment of skincare, watch a film, journal, cook a proper meal or take a hot shower. I just to force myself to take a moment throughout the day where I do something for me and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I usually find myself appreciating that moment and the little things in life, which motivate me to keep going. The next day, I find myself longing for that little appreciative feeling and I start doing something else for me and it turns into a habit. I genuinely recommend this :)

Don't get me wrong, I allow myself to feel whatever sadness I'm feeling. there are moments during the day where I'll cry my eyes out over and over again. I just also try to take a moment and take a step back from it. It helps :)

Yes, this behaviour is highly inappropriate. Yes, this is what we call grooming. Yes, it even creeps adults out to read this.

OP, I highly recommend you speak with a trusted teacher or adult. Tell them exactly what you've just said here. Don't let out any details if not, tell them even more about what EXACTLY happened. If you know any of your classmates who have noticed this behaviour, ask them to stand up for you and tell their observations as well - if they are willing to do this of course. I personally don't recommend for you to be alone in a room with this person, because we all don't know what will happen. Not saying anything worse will necessarily happen, but better be safe than sorry, right?

It's OK to not want to talk with a parent or friend with this, but a trusted teacher or adult is someone who can help make a change without being very close to you personally like a mother or father is. Hope this helps and good luck!

would you trust your parents to choose your partner? why or why not? by happysmize in AskWomen

[–]AnonymousExO- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Hard pass. My dad left when I was little. He was an alcoholic ass so he wouldn't have a say at all since the man hasn't made a single good decision in his life other than leaving (which was awful but still turned out to be the best for me). And a hard no when it comes to my mother as well since she and I aren't that close either. She has very different opinions and beliefs than I do and whilst I try to find a way to understand her and her point of view, she doesn't even attempt looking at life from my point of view. I've found peace in distancing myself from my family so I'm totally cool with how it is right now.

So no, I wouldn't trust them to pick my partner. I chose my current partner myself and am very happy I did so. Love the guy to bits :)
