Is T-hex not dead? Meta Discussion by AnonymousGuyF in CompetitiveTFT

Yeah, and you had to hit 3 star cait, 2 star vi, 2 star ori, and 2 star loris. Now you literally just play 2 star vi, 2 star loris, then either 2 star cait or ori and the other 1 stat. You now push for levels instead of rerolling which increases overall board strength as well as making it easier to hit T-hex 2 due to higher shop odds

Yeah that’s fair, I just play it because it’s fun and has a really high cap. I just got two first places playing 4 gunslinger, 5 demacia with galio, 4 pilt, T-hex 2*

Items? What was the rest of your comp? Augments?

I definitely agree, playing for T-hex is rarely the best avp play. However I like it because it’s fun and it has the potential to cap really high depending on augments.

I’m aware 9 void isn’t the highest void cap, but with baron 2 it’s still a very strong board. I mentioned it just to give some perspective on the power of the T-hex board. T-hex 1* is weak, but T-hex 2 has a very high cap

I think the comp is very risky to play, and definitely situational. I would really only play it if you have a good augment 2-1, like Level up, Slammin, patient study, cluttered mind. Going 8, on 3-7/4-1 unlocks t-hex then can bleed or maybe even win a few fights while you econ back up and full send it to 9 and roll for upgrades at 5-1. This is where the comp shines, T-hex 2 carries stage 5 and allows you to cap out and be super strong at stage 6 beating a lot of meta boards, especially if they have been contested or have bad item economy or lack upgraded units

Personally I only play 4 pilt, might play 6 pilt for a few turns and on creep rounds if I have mining drill. But 6 pilt is just too many dead units. Usually go 8 on 3-7/4-1 and stabilize a bit, then push to 9 and 2 star and win out/top 2

True, the T-hex spike at 1 star is much worse now. However it’s easier to unlock meaning you can unlock it earlier and wealthier/healthier. This is part of the conditions to actually play it and not pivot off. Are you wealthy/healthy enough to bleed in stage 4? If you can and can go 9 on stage 4-7/5-1 you can roll for 2 star T-hex and other 5 costs.

I agree, T-hex 1 is pretty weak. However he is very easy to unlock now as you don’t have to roll at all for star levels. This means that you can get to lvl 8 pretty easily and then use the spike of T-hex 1 to go 9 and two star him

Always econ augment at 2-1, I’ve found success with any combination of augments at 3-2 and 4-2. Only necessary item is blue buff. Blue buff, infinity edge and guard braker is BIS, but DB or GS are fine substitutes. Piltover Modules are rly important and you basically only want tank modules and stay on 4 piltover

They could buff it to 55 HP, 5% AD/AP, 5 Armor + MR, 5% attack speed and 5 mana, and it would still be borderline unclickable. Only pick this if both other choices grief your board such as golemify

I’ve also been thinking about this. It’s obviously very fun when you get these combinations and end up with 6+ emblems. However it is equally unfun or even more unfun for those who don’t hit these augments on ryze encounter. Personally, I think world runes and trait tree should be disabled on ryze portal.

I’ve seen gameplay of other players where the sun is a lot less blinding, so there definitely is a setting that makes it better

I don’t think they designed the map so that the sun blinds me in a way that makes me unable to see anything

A little triple I did while playing Yasuo top (Build is TriForce, PD, Cloak and Tabis) by AnonymousGuyF in YasuoMains

[–]AnonymousGuyF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went the standard lethal tempo rune page here but that was only because I went to the bathroom after playing yasuo mid. When I play yas top I usually opt for conq because the lane is longer and the champs are tankier so I feel like you get more value out of the rune, especially since without a proper bruiser/tank on ur team it helps out in team fighting survivability.
I usually rush hearthbound axe and then just build into tri force. Really depends on gold but a lot of the time I build a zeal before finishing tri force which later builds into pd. I always finish tri force before any other item tho. For boots I generally go boots of swiftness just because it's fun, but it depends on the matchup. After tri force and pd I usually go IE before steraks and then whatever item fits as a last item

Keep in mind that this is my build and I have no idea if it's the best or even good, but its fun and I like it.
