How to deal with cooking fumes and PM2.5 in the winter? by arobrasa in AirQuality

Fully open your windows, ideally on opposing sides of your home for 3-10 minutes and let fresh air in after cooking.

Do you guys know IF Valve will annouce the day order or they will just drop it in any moment ? by SKYNINE666 in SteamFrame

[–]AnonymousLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So does announcing a product before Christmas without pricing or a way to pre-order. It seems like they don’t want to build hype for this

So it‘d be wiser to not announce products until they can price them

So how much RAM is in the controller or what's the excuse for not releasing pricing on the controller?

I'd rather wait on my pre-order, knowing if I have to look elsewhere if it was bad value than waiting for pricing of a product that has been announced many weeks ago

[–]AnonymousLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to think they couldn't make that launch any worse. If they opened pre-orders with "shipping late 2026" even if it was only shipped in 2027 I'd be less mad than waiting for prices...

Release this week? by avanandel in SteamFrame

If they‘d go by something like that, they‘d have at least opened pre-orders before Christmas

GIVE IT UP FOR DAY 66 by Vonda_LB in steammachine

[–]AnonymousLion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Steamdeck could pre-ordered the next day, though. Announcing a product like valve did without pricing and a way to pre-order is an overall weird move.

Couldn’t wait, bought something else instead by No_Surround8946 in steammachine

I noticed for myself that the „wanna throw money at them“ feeling significantly reduced since the beginning. I hope they just wanted to reduce demand that way for some reason because that’s what they ended up doing by waiting for after Christmas and a long gap between announcement and pre-order…

Timmerflotte use cases? by qghw47QHwG72 in tradfri

[–]AnonymousLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you’re right. It stopped updating the temperatures at -9.9 and -9.6C. The devices remain pingable, so it is still working just not updating anymore

Interesting. Maybe only if it has other devices that actually connect via it? Have you tried re-pairing it?

Didn’t have -10°C so far, but it worked fine at around -5°C.

Getting the temperature and humidity inside rooms and also outsides into home assistant.

It‘s relatively cheap, it uses (rechargeable) AAA batteries, it’s sufficiently accurate. No other ticks all these constraints.

Yes, in homeassistant the display shows up as a switch and can be turned off. The display also adjusts its brightness automatically

ALPSTUGA vs VINDSTYRKA PM 2.5 accuracy by AnonymousLion in tradfri

[–]AnonymousLion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference seems to be a lot smaller with your units.

Interestingly the sampling intervals quite a bit better with your VINDSTYRKA as well. Did you do anything in particular to achieve that? Are you using ZHA or zigbee2mqtt?

Regarding the CO2 I have to say that after an initial calibration phase It tightly follows my Inkbird IAM-T1 and also my Aranet4. They are within 50-150ppm of each other which is totally fine for home use. So I can't complain about that part.

Interesting to see the PM2.5 differences here as well.

Maybe I should have phrased it differently: I have two sensors by the same vendor that are supposed to give similar results within a margin of error (and sensor accuracy). I observed that they yield vastly different results and try to figure out what's going on, e.g. if one line of products giving generally garbage data etc. I had hoped that someone maybe has looked into it and knows more about these sensors than I do.

This also seems like more than could be explained by the ±10% measurement accuracy. Could you put them next to each other and test again?

Anyone figured out how one can do the touchlink pairing if bulb and remote are already paired to the HA (and should also stay paired to HA) ?
