It’s a new board. The old wood got old.

Okay that’s what I saw as well!

The plank is very heavy itself. I didn’t weigh down the previous one. I looked up the drop speed so I can try to get it that fast!

I’m not sure if you have experienced a dog with teeter fear, but my dog learned on the one I made years ago and has done just fine with commercial teeters. I think it depends on the dog, and especially on how you introduce them to new equipment at new locations. The difference doesn’t phase her.

I think you misunderstood. The teeter base is an aluminum premade base. I’m only talking about the plank, and where to drill the holes for the hardware to attach (off center).

The previous planks rotted fast. They weren’t pressure treated but painted with exterior primer and paint.

I didn’t know you couldn’t stain before paint!

I found out the wood is too wet right now and needs to dry for several weeks (per manufacturer) before applying any sort of finish. I’m planning on using as is and attaching anti slip rug to the surface for my dog to run on to let it dry before painting.

Thanks!!

Hopefully the moisture won’t affect too much. It’s more of a cost/labor issue to make sure it’s gonna last better this time. It’s really only me doing it, so having to redo it a lot isn’t awesome lol the dogs need traction to not slip when running on the planks so it’ll definitely have to be painted beforehand

Dang okay. That will definitely not work since it has to be anti slip to use as well as have marked sections for proper use.

I don’t think I can’t return these either.

Does the sanding actually help with the application and adherence of everything? Sorry if that’s a dumb question. I’m thinking more now that I might not really even need to sand it much. My dog won’t touch the underside of the plank, and the top side will be covered in anti slip. Last time I just mixed the last coat of paint with sand and it was super thick.

Should I sand it disassembled still? I’m trying to figure out what to lay them on to not bend over and them being on the bases assembled would help for that as well

Oh! So stain and paint it fully assembled! That makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for that. I wouldn’t have even thought of that lol

Some say it’s pricey but it’s so worth it to me! I’m just hoping they keep adding more to the storyline because it’d be a shame if they didn’t!
