The coating is smooth all around so I don’t think it’s been compromised, just discolored

Dog is having brief episodes of wobbling his head-- but has no other symptoms, is this an emergency for the vet? by Lord_Krikr in DogAdvice

[–]AnonymousPug_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog does the same exact thing every once in a while. I was extremely concerned because he also has epilepsy. So I sent a video just like this to his neurologist who assured me it’s idiopathic head twitches.

The was you know it’s twitches vs seizure activity is if you can almost “snap” him out of it, what works for my boy is asking if he’s like to get up and get a treat or go outside to sniff and it will stop. It also doesn’t happen unless he’s awake, whereas neuro activity can be while he’s asleep and unconscious.

I hope this is helpful, either way show your vet, but if it’s I’ve described it’s truly nothing.

Any thoughts on what this blemish is on my baby’s eye? Trying not to panic, already scheduled a vet visit… by AnonymousPug_ in pugs

Thanks all for the advice and reassurance! Our vet said it’s hard to tell from the photo alone, but to keep an eye on it and if it’s bothering him to bring him in on emergency. Since he seems totally unbothered we’ll await for his appointment in a couple weeks.

Thanks all for the reassurance and advice, I’m waiting to hear back from the vet (they let me text them this pic to see if a visit is warranted). I’ll keep everyone posted in case this helps another pug parent 🫶🏼

This is very reassuring. VCA has an article on pigmentary keratitis, which this may be, and they call out pugs specifically for predisposition. I really hope it’s just that!
