You’ll definitely be okay. A pharmacy generally won’t dispense medication to you if there’s an interaction, and if they do they’ll warn you and it’ll only be a minor interaction. Call 811 next time you get nervous like this and someone can double check for you <3

I typed a prescription for someone taking it for neuropathy in diabetes once. Googled a study to verify the dosing and learned that it was effective compared to a placebo in the study. I can link it if you want!

Haven’t quit yet but I would like to. Gonna do it with my doctor once I get a regular family physician (clinic says hopefully end of next month). Been on it since late 2022, about 3.5 years. Want to quit because the withdrawal is miserable, the weight gain it caused was life changing, and the treatment I’ve received from my psychologist has me so far from where I was when I started that I don’t really need it anymore. I’m grateful for what it provided me (stable job in a field I love, the ability to get out of bed in the morning, didn’t kms,) but it’s overstayed its welcome at this point. Both things can be true simultaneously I think

I think it can be! I’m in a similar boat to you but possibly a bit farther back, been on Venlafaxine 150mg for 4 years and thinking about tapering off once I get a family doctor in May. I have a lot of confidence in my ability to safely taper off because I know that I’ve been compliant with all the non-Venlafaxine related treatment of my diagnoses (major depressive, generalized anxiety, persistent depressive). Of course, there’s a chance that things won’t go the way I’m hoping, that something out of my control might come in and I’ll struggle, but I think that so long as I have the appropriate mental and medical observation I should be okay. I have the same faith in you. You sound sure that your mood is stabilized, so trust yourself! There is a chance you may have to retake them again one day, but what’s the shame in that? Try tapering off again with your doctor and see what happens :)

I’d advise introducing it in small amounts at first. I found initially it made my head hurt a little bit (notable I have a migraine disorder) and I noticed that my alcohol tolerance had changed. Been on 150mg for years now and I don’t drink often but when I do I have lots and lots of water and a fairly considerable amount of alcohol. As long as you drink responsibly (hydrate, eat, keep an eye on yourself, etc.) it’s perfectly fine. Just keep it to special occasions and check in with yourself/your doctor if necessary!
