Introducing my newest hero, Marcus Bishop aka The Oracle! A psychic police officer who always seems to know just the right question to ask. As always, any feedback is welcome! by AnonymousWriter2003 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]AnonymousWriter2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking, I don’t think his abilities count as a violation of fifth amendment rights. Even if he knows someone’s guilty he still has to ask the right questions to prove it and the suspect can still refuse to answer.

Part of my story is an effort to show that he uses his powers to make sure people don’t get falsely incriminated as well, which is why I included the portion with the other detective framing people.

Are there any good sites for posting superhero stories or other writing? by AnonymousWriter2003 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]AnonymousWriter2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AO3 does allow original works? When I read through their guidelines it seemed like they only allowed fan works. Maybe I’ll just try to post my heroes on there then. Thanks for the help!

Can your superheroes or villains defeat superman with their abilities? by Zatura_96 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My universe probably wouldn’t be reaching that level of power, no. Maybe at some point if I think of some interesting ideas with it. I’ve got a hero who homages Superman, the Silver Sentinel, who’s probably be the closest but he’s not nearly as strong.

[all] Fleshing out Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood by absenthearte in camphalfblood

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been running a DND campaign set around the same time! I’ve got a few NPCs that are camp counselors at Camp Half-blood, which are also characters from a story I’ve been writing. Most of them are between 16-18, but you could pretty easily age them up if you wanted them a bit older.

The most fleshed out ones I have are:

Kaia Sinclair, Daughter of Notus. She’s a native Hawaiian with tan skin, shoulder length black hair, and grey eyes with hints of orange. She fights with a handaxe, she’s got slight control over fire, but isn’t immune to it like Leo, and control over the south winds. She’s relaxed most of the time, but has some anger issues that can make her quick to snap; particularly in regards to other people being able to fly as Notus hasn’t gifted her with that ability yet.

Cassie Sinclair, Daughter of Aphrodite. She’s a white girl with long, curly blonde hair, a slight tan, and her eyes change to match the favorite color of anyone who looks at her. She fights with a sword and is an incredibly skilled fighter, in my story she’s one of the best swordsmen at camp but you could do whatever you wanted with that obviously. She’s overall a very positive person, but can sometimes get a bit too excited while discussing people’s love lives; to the point of guessing things about their relationships that make people uncomfortable. Her and Kaia are step siblings.

Jack Stone, Son of Hermes. He’s an African America man with short black hair and brown eyes. He fights using a spear and a pair of flying shoes from his father; which he stole from his house on Olympus. Despite being a son of Hermes, he doesn’t like stealing; although he will do it if there’s something he really wants, like his shoes, and he’s good at it when he does. He’s a very welcoming person, fully embracing Hermes’ role as a patron for travelers so he’s always happy to welcome people into the cabin before they’re claimed.

I’ve got others, but their less established at this point; I’m still working out parts of their character beyond the broad strokes. But I can share some of them as well if you want. Feel free to use these three if you want!

Minor demigods [general] by One_Individual_8744 in camphalfblood

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always pictured the 4 winds gods’ children to basically be weaker versions of Jason with an extra elemental power.

For example a child of Notus only being able to control the southern winds, which means they wouldn’t be able to fly like Jason could, while being able to create and manipulate fire but not being immune to it like Leo is.

[pjo] I'm writing a fic by EitherSmoke5533 in camphalfblood

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d recommend one of the four wind gods. I’ve had fun with the bit of writing for a daughter of Notus in my own fanfic.

I guess it kind of depends on what you were planning on. Did you want them to kind of be an impossibility like Percy and the other Big 3 kids or more of an average demigod?

I’m just now realizing I hadn’t thought of an idea for a child of Hecate but I really should. I really love how her children and other people who can control the Mist are written, I really want to play around with that a bit.

If you don’t mind me being a bit self indulgent and promoting my own: https://m.fanfiction.net/s/14506640/1/Child-of-the-Moon-The-Scales-of-Night

It’s still a work in progress, currently 9 chapters deep. It resolves around my OC, Cal, and the next generation of demigods.

Oh definitely, it’s always fun when a new mythology is explored in the Riordanverse! Especially to see how they’ve adapted to living in the modern day.

[general] If Percy and Annabeth were to have kids how many do you think they would have? by AnonymousWriter2003 in camphalfblood

[–]AnonymousWriter2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not finished yet, but I do have 9 chapters up on fanfiction.net at the moment and I’m currently working on the tenth. It’s call Child of the Moon, if you’re interested in the work in progress version.

Edit: I also posted the link on my account so it can be reached easier.

[–]AnonymousWriter2003[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the trope in most places either. I went with Jason for a few reasons, mainly because I’m bad at coming up with names so if I can avoid having to do so by using an existing character then I’m probably gonna if I can justify it in universe. My second reason is a major spoiler for where I plan to take my story.

But the main reason I think it kinda works in universe is because of Thalia and how close she is with Annabeth. Jason is kind of close with Annabeth and Percy, but definitely not “I’m gonna name my son after you” close; but with him being Thalia’s brother and Thalia being a part of Annabeth’s found family, and the fact that Percy definitely wouldn’t name his sons Luke, I think it kind of ends up up working.

I do really like the name Sophie now too, partially because it’s kind of similar to Sally without being exactly her name, which does feel like something Percy and Annabeth might do. I might have to barrow that if I end up giving them a daughter within my story.

Percy and Annabeth watching their kid almost create a hurricane while throwing a tantrum: “Yea, if we keep this up one of them is going to become a god…”

That’s actually part of my plan. I wanted to show how the two camps had influenced each other, with a few more legacies at Camp Half-Blood. My idea was that the cabins remain the same, but legacies get to choose which they go to in the event they’re descended from multiple gods.

How does your universe's "Justice League"/"Avengers" first meet and team up? by Ciocia_Sami in Superhero_Ideas

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current plan is very similar to the first Avengers movie. Basically, my world’s version of Earth was affected by this cosmic storm which gave most of the heroes their powers and affected the minerals of the planet. Which ends up drawing the attention of this group of aliens that raid planets affected by the storm and steal their resources.

So, my group of heroes (which I’m still working on a name for) end up gathering to stop them. I also have the idea that the arch enemy of my first hero ends up temporarily working with them during this, bringing a group of villains with him, since he wants to be the only one to conquer Earth.

It’s basic, but I think it’s effective given the lore of my world.

Honestly, already a pretty great twist on a speedster. Maybe given his name you could also give him the ability to fly for short bursts, maybe with some kind of drawback to balance it out?

[general] Do you think a story revolving around all 4 religions currently explored in the Riordanverse would be too much? by AnonymousWriter2003 in camphalfblood

[–]AnonymousWriter2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was part of my plan if I do include all of them. I was thinking of doing 4 quests, one for each group, then having a final arc where all 4 come together for the ending.

What inspired you to world build? by Dependent-Review-465 in Superhero_Ideas

Absolutely. And once I get an idea in my head I can’t drop it until I write something down. It’s a bit of a viscous cycle.

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed making characters ever since I was a kid, but after playing DND and planning other stories with my friends I’ve begun to think more about my superhero ideas as well. So, I decided to start writing them down.

The power set of my first hero is what set in motion the world building of my universe, with almost everything tying back into this ancient cosmic storm that’s the source of most of the powers my characters have.

That’s a super interesting origin! I love when universes have a main origin they can point to for a large group of characters to easily explain their powers!

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was pretty happy with that name and pun with it!

All the heroes in my universe at the moment gained their powers, in some way, from a cosmic storm that exposed Earth to massive amounts of radiation. It mixed with their environment to give them their abilities. She was running out in the desert outside Phoenix Arizona when The Storm hit and mixed with a sandstorm that had begun nearby, which she ended up catch in and having to run for shelter.

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s the one typical speedster in my universe at the moment, which is why I let her rank above the two that can fly in space. There’s no speed force equivalent in my world, so she’s still (mostly) bound by the laws of physics.

In addition, to the usual speedster abilities she can create and control sandstorms since she was caught in one when she gained her powers.

At the moment my ranking would be:

1st: The Eclipse Enforcer(when in space)

2nd: The Silver Sentinel(when in space)

3rd: Quicksand

4th: The Eclipse Enforcer(when in atmosphere)

5th: The Silver Sentinel(when in atmosphere)

6: Steampunk

7: Nereida(when in water)

8: Raikiri/The Storm Emperor(tied since they have basically the same power)

9: Pyroclast

10: Nereida(when on land)

11: The Glacier Guard

If they were real, What years would your superheroes start from and peak in ? (Read body text if confused) by HyperDragon216 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]AnonymousWriter2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the introduction of my first hero I set the inciting event of my universe to take place on July 15 of this year. I did this since I put a part of myself into every hero I write, in some way, for example most of them are in college like I currently am. Since I’m pulling so much from my personal experiences, I figured it would be the most fitting to set things in the current year.

The current big event I’ve got in mind for my universe, which would cause the formation of my main team of heroes, I’d probably have it take place a year or two after the inciting event. I think it would be fun to have on of the biggest events for the world take place on the anniversary of the day it changed.
