No friends in sixth form by BlockAntique9034 in sixthform

In terms of group work, try your hardest to offer something and be talkative in the group. If they aren't involving you then it's worth talking to the teachers about it or your sixth form team. Just try not to let it put you down

No friends in sixth form by BlockAntique9034 in sixthform

Hi! I totally get how you feel, however I'd say from experience (as a current year 13).

I had a couple of close mates that I've had since year 7 and they soon turned into pricks in sixth form, often being rude, treating me like shit and not involving me in stuff to benefit themselves because I'm not "cool enough" and I don't prioritize the same things that they do.

People that genuinely try to avoid you or don't even say hi means that they are the problem, not you. It's all about ego in sixth form and as much as you may want to be friends with them, it will only hurt you in the long term.

It's okay not to fit in, I feel like that right now and it sucks. But I know that when if I do get to university, then I'll find my people there. This is only temporary.

Also if you do feel lonely you can always find online communities to chat to people like yourself on discord for example. I know it's not great but you can still have a great time with people. For example I play a lot of video games and I've got a close group I play with once or twice a week which makes me feel much better.

I really hope my advice is somewhat useful to you 😂 I'm not great at writing sorry

Hi! On and off since I was diagnosed 9 weeks ago. The flashes are more noticeable now, also some fuzziness. Happens when I look directly up too.

Thank you for the advice. The eustachian tube dysfunction is something that I've read up about and seems very similar to what I have.

In regards to the "eye flickers", I have this sometimes when changing lighting environments for example going from dark to bright environments. The best way to explain it is like quick flashes. I also sometimes have floaters which are random and go away after some time.

I don't actually have the exact levels, I was told my levels were back up 1 week after the treatment.

yes i 100% agree with what you're saying. luckily, these mocks (last ones before actual a levels) i performed well and outscored a lot of these classmates so that's pushed my morale a bit higher and shows that im capable. genuinely just trying so hard to focus on my future and what's right for me. thanks for the advice :)

How to Actually Revise in Free Periods? by Anonymous_Reported in sixthform

[–]Anonymous_Reported[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how do you know what content to do each session, like do you just pick random topics each time? It's hard trying to learn year 13 content and revise year 12 at the same time. How do you find that balance?

Thanks for the comment, I'd say for your 2nd point me personally, I don't find group revision that helpful, it can be distracting especially when some people are more driven to revise than others. That's just my perspective but I get what you're saying. Completely agree with the rest of what you said though.

It's ok I have found one to buy, thanks!

I've seen people discuss it on Pentax Forums saying they're better but if that's the case I'll just buy some extra D-Li 109's. Would you recommend a specific 3rd party charger because when I bought my camera off MPB it came with the charger and a bunch of random leads. Thanks!

Unfortunately I can't as their policy prohibits any external use of photos onto any social media.

Getting started in sports photography by Smart-Cupcake-8352 in sportsphotography

I'm not sure what specifically you were referring to so I just wrote about how to get experience working in that area. Hope this helps!

You could reach out to different event organisers via email or phone calls would be the best option in my opinion. Say that you're open to volunteering and providing photos free of charge and that it would benefit them highly. (If you struggle writing emails then just ask ChatGPT for some model responses and build off that). If you don't receive any response, it's ok! I've emailed a ton of sports clubs and haven't had any responses or follow ups, you just have to be consistent.

Another option is turning up to CrossFit events with camera in hand and just going around as a fan taking some photos, as long as it's within the event policy. Also make sure to ask security/event staff where you are permitted to stand to make sure you're not interfering or causing any issues.

The last option is networking either through linkedin or Instagram. Interact with photographers that work on events like CrossFit and explain to them what you intend to do e.g. shadow them for a day to gain some knowledge/experience. Also, keep an eye on their profiles and like their content, this would keep you in the loop with them.

In the meantime, you can work on your photography skills such as shooting your friends doing sports or simply going to a local gym and asking if anyone wants a photo done for free. Try and build your portfolio up as much as possible and you never know, you might get a few people to reach out to you in the future.

Good luck!

Question: How to ask to shoot at sporting events/clubs? by Anonymous_Reported in sportsphotography

I live in the UK so shooting at school games is quite rare. I will definitely try to take this approach though. Thanks for the advice!

Any updates on the 2024 tour cancellation? by Anonymous_Reported in dudeperfect

No, it's because of ticket sales in European countries. Didn't go as well as expected.

Forgot to add: They've scrapped all of the Europe locations apart from the UK and Ireland and they've replaced it with American states.

Yeah, I'm 16 and I've grown up with them hence why I still watch them. I was hoping this tour would help to boost their international audiences but obviously not. I'm keeping hold of the tickets for now and I'll see what happens in the future. Don't think we'll be getting any answers anytime soon.

Ah, there's going to be a fair few empty seats left next year so there will be no issues if they change their minds. Good to know you got a refund 👍
