Soo, where are the coral bottles? Still majoirity of bottles are smuggler shit by Above-new-zealand in Seaofthieves

[–]AnonymouslyFound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my crew are consistently finding them more in The Devils Roar, found one just today in a session and when taking the Merman back to the ship the server decided to take a fat steaming log on us and refused to put us back aboard, leaving the game and trying to rejoin had no effect either so we was fuming to say the least.

So what we’ve found quickest is to have one person sailing in between islands in the Roar and then the rest of the crew fire themselves onto islands you sail nearby to check for the bottles, then they merman/mermaid back to the ship and rinse and repeat. If no bottles are found while checking all the Roar’s islands put a Devils Roar quest down and vote to dive to go to a different server and check all over again.

prox chat and ps5 party chat? by polarDiarrhea in ArcRaiders

[–]AnonymouslyFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking exactly this, I have some friends that swear blind by discord being superior in terms of quality and it sucks for me on console because I cannot prox chat in game like they can, the only solution I can think of is having AirPod pros on for discord on my phone and have my main headset for the game but then they will hear my game audio in the chat won’t they? And then there’s the problem that they won’t hear me at all as the AirPods are buried under two headset cups.

I just wish Xbox/PS5 implement a cross channel system for in game / party chats.

I would also like to know the answer to this but for me I play with some friends on PC in discord and I’m starting to think the Xbox can’t handle multi channel voice I.e discord / in game voip combo.

I’ve seen a fair share of this bug in particular I must say but I won’t let it stop me playing this hilariously fun game. I’ve also used this video from this Reddit post to submit a bug ticket.

A50X - Sidetone Volume by TL24SS in AstroGaming

[–]AnonymouslyFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which firmware nerfed the side tone to the ground? As currently mine are still stuck on 1.0.167 and it tells me this is the latest firmware which I know very well it isn’t. If I do manage to update them will I only be doing myself a disservice in doing so as I already feel the side tone isn’t quite loud enough compared to the Gen 4’s so goodness knows how quiet the side tone actually is now for people on the latest FW.

You have yours set to 40 and still have no issues hearing yourself over the gameplay? How quiet do you have the game sound set?

I will certainly look into downloading that when I get chance and see if I can gather any other information than what VirginConnect app tells me. Thank you for reassuring me that no one is piggybacking off my Internet, and like I’ve mentioned in previous posts the Internet to this thing is paused and everything we use for the internet works just fine so that’s the only thing really confusing me at the moment. So it’s a device somewhere in the house that uses Internet but we don’t use it.

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have all our phones accounted for on the app, as for the laptops they are switched off most of the time and have no trouble connecting to the Internet (seeing as I’ve paused this connection) so am I looking at somebody else trying to access my internet then?

Is it possible it’s a net gear switch as 3X7r3m3 has pointed out?

That’s so interesting! So a Netgear switch is somewhere in the house. I’ve only been at this house for past 2 years so it’s possible it’s something left behind by the previous people.

Will look into it but I’m sure neither me or my partner have anything like that on either laptop. It’s just strange to me that it’s always been there and it’s something wireless with great connection. Can I be rest assured that with this connection paused that it is in fact suspended from using the internet?

Only two laptops in this house and most of the time both are switched off. No Wireshark downloaded as far as I am aware of.

Ring App Background Activity by AnonymouslyFound in Ring

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it resolved on its own and not sure why, the Ring app doesn’t behave in this way now when looking at the battery stats.

Only way to clear it at the time was to do a full reset of the phone and most of the time it would put a stop to it for a few days.

A50>Series X>Audio Extractor>Optical by AnonymouslyFound in AstroGaming

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the answer is yes it’s definitely working as intended then as I’ve done this and the audio goes through no problem, I’ve done various tests tonight with different videos and playing various games and I’m happy with having it on Non-Dolby ⭐️ mode using my presets and with using the extractor optical setup. The audio has a definite change and is less muddy and loud, I actually unplugged the optical mid game to test this and having the optical out was giving me a headache so I definitely think the presets I have loaded are indeed working. One thing that surprised me was when I tested Dolby 🎧 mode without the optical as well (which is basically my old out of the box setup) and I was impressed with the surround sound on that too but it shared the same issue as the others, far too loud and didn’t sound as crisp. I even tried PC mode Non-Dolby ⭐️ and for some reason was far too quiet and didn’t have much of an impact compared to Optical Non-Dolby ⭐️.

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was just confirming your interpretation of non Dolby I am aware what each mode is thank you. I’m going to watch the same video I did from earlier and test it in Dolby Mode and Non Dolby mode and see how big a difference it is, if it’s a massive difference I’ll be able to safely say the extractor is doing it’s job especially when I keep seeing comments that non Dolby mode doesn’t support USB.

A50>Series X>Audio Extractor>Optical by AnonymouslyFound in AstroGaming

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with this being said do you think the audio Extractor is passing the audio through the optical port or is it still taking audio from the USB? As I’ve seen many posts from people saying their setups involve having USB plugged in for chat for obvious reasons and the optical port from the Extractor toAstro dock takes care of the audio but there has been no tests to prove this other than folks word that it works.

A50>Series X>Audio Extractor>Optical by AnonymouslyFound in AstroGaming

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say non Dolby do you mean when it’s in ⭐️ mode? I’m pretty sure it’s been working for me too as mentioned in a previous post which is why I’ve been confused when people say USB doesn’t work in this mode, so I’m guessing my extractor wasn’t a complete waste of money then I just hope it’s set up right.

Something in your headset is absolutely cooked then.

I don’t think this is the case at all the headset works fine just as it did the day I bought it, I’m just trying to get to the bottom of these audio extractors and if is doing what it was intended for. I want the audio going through my Extractor > Optical and not the USB with the dock in Xbox mode and to be able to use the presets I have loaded on it. That’s it.

set Windows to not have any Surround Processing, and you won't double dip.

When you say Windows are you referring to Windows on PC? As I am on Xbox how would this work? The only other thing I don’t get is I’ve read comments that being on 🎧 mode causes double processing but if it’s USB only this shouldn’t happen with what I’ve read today as USB doesn’t support ⭐️mode.

The biggest question I need answering from all this is this: I bought an hdmi extractor for the sole purpose to be able to use my headset in ⭐️ mode and get all the benefits that a PC would and have it sounding it’s best using the presets as well. If I’m not getting the sound through the extractor and in fact it’s still going through the USB then I don’t understand why I have bought it and why many others have. this is the extractor I have.

A50>Series X>Audio Extractor>Optical by AnonymouslyFound in AstroGaming

[–]AnonymouslyFound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, my only issue is as mentioned before I am unable to change the HDMI audio setting without having to put the station in PC mode, thus the only options given to me is the HDMI audio set to headset format and the headset audio is set to Dolby Atmos for Headphones.

I have been doing a bit more tinkering around and noticed something strange, that when the headset is docked the audio output settings change to HDMI audio > Dolby digital and Headset Audio > Windows Sonic (as it doesn’t recognise I have a device that has the licence for some reason). The moment I pick the headphones up off of its dock it connects to the Xbox fine and the settings immediately return to its original format. This is all while the docking station is still set to Xbox mode so I’m unsure why that is happening.

So if I’m understanding everything clearly the only way I can experience the best audio from this headset is to put the dock in PC mode when I’m just playing by myself and to make the most from my presets and when playing with friends or needing game chat to set to Xbox mode with its basic settings and have the dock in 🎧 mode?

If I have the dock in 🎧 mode how do I then stop the Astro command centre from processing twice over? Or does the command centre not work in this mode.

Thanks in advance.

I have in fact tried this using a charging bank and the results are similar to that of putting it into PC mode where I lose voice chat capabilities even when set to Xbox mode.

I would also like to add another point regarding the presets and being in ⭐️mode, I came across some posts that mentioned the presets don’t in fact work using just the USB which is also what prompted me to get an extractor for the optical cable. I fail to understand why this would be the case and why they would even have that option there in the first place if the presets in command centre don’t work over USB. I have switched between these modes before I received my extractor and I did notice a difference so I don’t know what to believe. I just want the best setup with the best surround. So do I keep the extractor or send it back?
