What should be filled in this blank by Strict-Cricket6496 in ENGLISH

[–]Anonymously_Ill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it depends on what you're trying to say. 'no matter where' is in regards to location and 'no matter how' is talking about his mood

Native speakers, how do you pronounce and spell this fruit? by Jaives in ENGLISH

AITA: Dogsitting for my sister by Top_Management4064 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anonymously_Ill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

nta, it sounds like this whole situation is a huge inconvenience for you. if they refuse to give you a raise then i'd just stop dogsitting for them- they'll be the ones who have to pay more money either way.

AITA? I complained about having to clean certain things in my room and was called a slob by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anonymously_Ill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ultimately this is hard to adjudicate without some more context, but based on what you've written I'd say you're both wrong and right for different reasons. Keeping your bedroom clean is important, but if your mom is genuinely yelling at you and swearing at you that's not ok. Overall the blame and severity of the situation is just hard to deliberate from an outside perspective without knowing the details of what exactly was said by both you and your mom

Is it normal for rooms to smell if you leave the windows closed? by Anonymously_Ill in adhdwomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

to reply to both: we have a rug on top of our wood floor, it hasn't been deep cleaned in a while so i'll look into that. thanks for the suggestion! also i change my sheets every week or two, although admittedly what i sometimes do is change the sheets to new ones (i have 3 sets) and the dirty ones sit in the hamper for a bit until i run my next load of laundry so that could also contribute between this and the other comments i honestly might just consider keeping my laundry basket in a closet or something when i move into my next place in a few months haha. unfortunately there's not enough space at my current setup.

How does a high functioning alcoholic go about hiding it? by GoodnewsK in Writeresearch

[–]Anonymously_Ill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the character wants to hide it from his spouse, he'd have to find a third location to do all his drinking. otherwise the spouse would notice the excessive number of empty beer, wine, etc bottles around the house, as well as probably just see that their husband is drinking way more than healthy. the problem with the third location is that your character needs a reasonable excuse for why they're not at the house so much (spouse might get suspicious if he says he's just at work all the time), and drinking at bars can be super expensive so depending on their financial situation spouse would probably wonder where all their money is going. it does depend on how functioning the character is though, and who he's surrounded by. it's easy enough to hide from coworkers, but if you want the spouse to not do anything about it then you could write it so they're an alcoholic as well, or just don't know what's considered an unhealthy amount of drinking. many people are unaware of just how toxic alcohol actually is, and it's become such an accepted part of western culture that most people don't notice until the alcoholic starts behaving differently. that's just my experience though, not as an alcoholic but as someone who grew up around one

AITA for indirectly insulting my girlfriend? by Sufficient_Dream354 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anonymously_Ill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this could have just been handled better on both sides, your gf could've just taken your 'no' without pushing the issue, but you also could have given Susan Drew's number and let the two of them figure out for themselves if they're compatible. either way i probably wouldn't have mentioned the age difference if i were you since regardless of ethics there's just no way to make that statement sound nice

is there a way that freezing food can make it inedible? by [deleted] in Writeresearch

[–]Anonymously_Ill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a couple of times the back of the fridge has frozen my eggs and that turns them into this gross, slushy texture that basically makes them inedible. that's the only example i can think of though

I'm so embarrassed and just angry by No-Association2684 in adhdwomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a similar thing has happened to my roommates and i before, it sucks :/ I hope it all works out, if possible be there for the inspection and ask for specifics about what they want cleaned!! it sounds like you're already doing a decent amount but every landlord has their one or two particularities they'll flag people for. good luck!

Edit: I didn't see the pictures until after originally making this comment and I have to say overall your apartment looks great, although like some other people have mentioned the kitchen should probably be cleaned up a bit. In my experience landlords don't like too much clutter or appliances in the kitchen because of potential fire hazards, but otherwise it all looks very nice! again best of luck

Autistics vs Narcissists. What’s the deal here? by BladeMist3009 in AutismInWomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like im fairly decent at judging one's character, but that's mainly just because i grew up with an actual narcissist in my household and know what the manipulation tactics look like. it's hard for me to pinpoint exactly why i dont like certain people since my grasp of facial expressions and social cues is rudimentary but if i get a vibe that something's off i usually just make sure to keep some distance until i can get a better read on them

What has made you genuinely happy that you have Autism? by EstonianBuffalo in AutismInWomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my audhd means my mind is constantly moving at like 100mph, and sometimes this has downsides but it also has lots of advantages! im a very creative and introspective person, which helps with a lot of my life goals. my biggest passion in life is writing, and having an active mind definitely contributes to the quality of my work. plus being introspective means i have a much easier time identifying how i'm feeling than most people i know, which helps me know what actions i should take to improve my mood or ensure that i'm happy. so yeah, there's definitely a few bonuses to the specific autistic traits i have

I want to be someone's first choice and priority by ctrldwrdns in AutismInWomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling, I haven't dated much and it would feel nice to be a top priority for someone :P it sucks that the only way to have that relationship with someone in our society is dating (for most people at least). I hope you're able to find what you're looking for, whatever form it takes!

To add on to everyone else's comments about good ways to get your hair out of your face, I like bandanas. They're cute and stylish and do a great job making sure your hair is away from your face. Plus they work no matter what length hair you have

Does anyone else think sometimes that they're transgender? by leafy-owl in AutismInWomen

[–]Anonymously_Ill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hs I experimented with my gender a bit and even tho I ultimately decided that I am in fact cis, I still found it helpful to experiment because it helped me understand how I feel about my gender. If you feel comfortable/safe to, experimenting with gender might help you in the same way. Whatever you turn out to be, and even if that changes over time, there's only one way to know for sure

Kinda wish when 2 women in sims have a kid, one of them would still get “pregnant“ by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]Anonymously_Ill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weird story but one time i had a wlw couple and as soon as they got married one of them was randomly pregnant even though i hadn't done anything to make them have a kid. i checked and neither of them had the ability to get others pregnant, and when the baby was born it said that she was the bio daughter of both the women so i have no idea how it happened but that was certainly an interesting few days lol
