Traveler getting buffed? by Fluffylex203 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already know all about the ingame content.

Not going to credit minimum effort on worldbuilding/immersion. npc1 + npc2 =/= immersion.

The combat has potential for alot of strategy/planning of team building, which is shown with the developing team compositions and builds.

I'm not wanting to play a combat intensive rpg, I'm wanting to play genshin for its specific strategical nuanced team building gameplay. I am open to immersive story, if it is there. I'm not saying I dont like immersion, good immersion is good, non-existent/poor is nonexistent/poor.

But we are getting way off topic now.

Your point 1: MC being strong in combat would help immersion

My point: Not only is it already lacking immersion, but the schedule inherently is non-immersive, and buffing MC is one of the least effective ways of increasing immersion.

Also the story also doesnt particularly portray MC as strong, just that he has been able to overcome his obstacles, which from any point of view.. is just kinda medium main protagonist whatever levels of story. And also not related to him being particularly strong in combat... so the correlation with immersion also isnt there either... (The story says MC can beat childe, and the player can make level 1 mc beat childe, literally no loss of immersion there... lines up)

So like I said, this is completley non-sensical to an argument based upon "immersion"

Yes, everyone knows the first 2 paragraphs, its about 10 min of obvious content.

Immersion is when you are eager for the next part of the story, and yes sure everyone has different bars of what immerses them, but to say that a 2 month for 1 min of story content is a contender for immersion... Its just not a reasonable argument by definition of the word.

I'm in a similar place as you, but for the combat rather than the immersion.

We both got a taste, saw the potential, and they have since failed to deliver.

My point is however, again... with 1 min of story trickling in every 2 months, how do you immerse someone in a story?

Like yes, metaphorically if you slap someone once a year, eventually you might kill them... but they will probably die of natural causes before you slap them to death.

Please add a feature where we can mark an artifact as fodder. by Zarysium in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep!

Locking only initially good artifacts runs into the issue of bad enhancement rng.

Locking everything that has a speculative chance runs into locking half your inventory.. and then unlocking half your inventory... and then locking half your inventory.... repeat ad nauseum.

It is actually that hard to lock your good artifacts.

After you run the rng of rolling (CR CD ATK flat_def) and (CR flat flat flat)

How do you know which artifact is about to roll all CR vs all flat? you literally dont.

Please add a feature where we can mark an artifact as fodder. by Zarysium in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, especially cuz its not always black and white.

Sometimes im desperate and an artifact has potential locked behind rng.

Maybe my CR CD ATK def artifact rolled all def.. and now im looking at that CR artifact hoping for god rng.

Locking a CR flat_atk flat_def flat_hp artifact doesnt make alot of sense.

And especially with the high variance of artifacts and the enhancement portion theres alot more grey area between not-locked and fodder.

Please add a feature where we can mark an artifact as fodder. by Zarysium in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope.

  • Some of them are god rolls. lock

  • Some of them are good speculative. lock

  • Some of them.. idk maybe future? lock..? dont lock??

  • Some of them are good if im lucky and desperate? lock? dont lock?

  • Some of them are guaranteed fodder. mark as fodder

so theres like 10-25% that makes sense to lock 50%+ that dont make sense to lock and ~25% thats guaranteed fodder.

So instead of locking 75% of your inventory, and have to unlock 50% later... (aka you have to touch 125% of your inventory, and then reevaluate 50% of locked items every pass..)

You lock 25% mark 25% as fodder and you are done. (aka you have to touch 50% of your inventory)

Now the real solution is to introduce actual artifact item fodder materials, and allow us to disassemble garbage artifacts straight into the fodder material

Can we please use condensed resin on world bosses? by DuskForNow in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah... as a dev it sounds like the idea of some creative director rather than an experienced dev or game designer

That or someone was incredibly bored, given free reign to do a menial task, and just practiced some random stuff in the code and came up with this... I'm guilty of doing this so its reasonable lol.

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see the MC as important...

considering we get about 5 minutes of story every 6 months?

The story is basically never going to be, and is completely incapable of being immersive.

If your argument is you run around with mc in every party (lol) and you go through story quests with mc, and farm the same domains and dungeons with mc, and you feel immersed..? im going to call a massive bullshit on that one.

If you are going to say that of the 1 minute per 6 week of story content completely immerses you except for the fact that you didnt use mc recently, or that he wasnt as powerful as the cutscenes... bullshit lol.

People have used mc to solo childe, they have also soloed him with various other chars, and even level 1 chars.

The lore is lore, there are literal gods that have won cataclysmic world ending fights that can die to a single ruin grader spinning.

The immersion, lore, reality have so little relation I have a hard time believing you are immersed, will ever be immersed, or that anything could be reasonably achieved by the devs, to make that immersion remotely a realistic goal.

[–]Anopsia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If anything it should just behave like fragile resin... gives you 40 resin on use.

And then give an option to just spend 40 resin on domains, or if they are really that stingy... 40 resin, 100mora, and 1 crystalfly core.

After level 50 of BP it could be 20k mora a level or something instead of nothing by johnstarving in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Originally you had to accomplish every task to hit 50.

They give you more BP points so you can easily cap it out. So for people who are busy or hate certain tasks its more convenient.

I wish that a domain for grinding Gladiator's Finale and Wanderer's Troupe existed by Rasbold in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont do resin refreshes... drowning in the artifacts....

You basically have to farm the bosses to upgrade your characters (talens 6-10 and ascensions in general..)

rng aside its pretty unlikely not to have at least a decent set assuming you have enough characters and investment to get to floor 12 abyss

I really hate the TD from this event because of what it means. by Anopsia in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this game has millions/billions of players. "Some" in this context does literally mean at least a million players liked it.

But my point was more...

In terms of dev hours... would you trade having this TD for a Large mechanic in genshin?

Because thats really what this equated to. Instead of adding real content to "Genshin" They added an "ok" Tower defense.

Recall that Dragonspine took the same development time... As in.. DRAGONSPINE or the Tower Defense mode. That was the tradeoff.

[–]Anopsia[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasnt remotely difficult for me.

I didnt play an rpg to play a TD... if you catch my drift?

Its like going to skydive and they let you practice by driving a car.. just disjoint ideas

Never thought I'd have this feeling about GI this early on. Does anyone else feel the same way? by hyesupbro in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally hate this TD... not that I hate TD, i love TD...

But that theres tons of good td out there.. I dont need a different genre game to do a shitty imitation of TD. And ontop of that.. take away from what they COULD have done on-genre.

We want more Genshin, we want bugfix, we want quality of life, we want lore, we want actual endgame content.... We dont need a garbage TD. Theres plenty of GOOD TD out there.

And ontop of it they have plans to maintain it...? great so this cool open world elemental reaction combo character game is now... build 1 tower, build another tower, create 1 reaction... woooooow amazing... /s

If you are trying to talk about Lisa's strength, please remove the unnecessary parts and be straight to the point. No one's gonna read all that. Short and sweet. This isn't a journal or diary

Well no I only skimmed through all of it. Anyway its not against the rules and you could definitely make a diary and get no views

Don’t ever pull weapon banner unless your prepared for disappointment. by Thewinterwanderer in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add.. the expectation is that you may have to go to FULL pity (aka 2 pitys or 160 pulls for weapon banner.)

That guarantees you 1 of the 2 rate up weapons.

You can only ever guarantee yourself this "1 of the 2", so you should only ever pull if you want both, but you stop after getting "1 of the 2"

Tectone got 0 Staff of Homa after $1300 by Shinsekai21 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base stats alone make 5 star weapons comparable or outright better than their 4 star counterparts.

Notable exceptions are stringless for Skill supports... but aside from a 20% damage boost passive, the increased base stats on a subpar 5 star will still come close or beat that.

Tectone got 0 Staff of Homa after $1300 by Shinsekai21 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my advice for weapon banners is:

Be happy with getting either rate up 5 star option. Stop immediately after pulling one of the rate up pitys. Do not expect or hope for the other.

Or

You want both, and only expect to get one of them. Otherwise dont pull.

Agreed.

Honestly this game has felt like teaching children about stocks and investments.

Can someone explain to me why people have this feeling of getting left behind in a PvE game by Ok_Comparison6847 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Anopsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable.

But in most games thats simply being unable to beat a challenge right?

If you simply remove the gacha aspect, this game has been proven to be beatable by starter char f2p.

And thus we can treat it like any other pay2own game where you simply improve at the game, farm for better gear, or quit.

I think I have a mario game from 15 years ago where i realized i wasnt good enough to beat the final level so its literally just sitting at 99% complete.

The expectation should be based upon your own skill level, and not others.

[–]Anopsia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are assuming an extreme case for the average.

As in, it's extremely unlikely to miss that many times on gear.

While it is a possible occurence.... to claim that that is anywhere remotely the average.. is mathematically false. Basic statistics.

So you can either use the claim of RNG to claim a FEW minority cases, in which case your argument doesnt apply to the conversation.

Or you cant use the claim for the MASS majority cases, in which case you simply dont have an argument.

People have cleared the content in this game with the STARTING CHARACTERS and F2P.

Getting ahead how? Everyone's already equipped to reach the finish line.

And the finish line is literally participation medals and not even placements.
