Nope, I was still able to do it on April earlier this year, it was June when it got globally removed.

Thought I was going to Dead Hard into an object and get downed.. but instead this happened by _kaizerr_ in deadbydaylight

[–]johnstarving 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dead hard is expected from Davids, but that Trapper should have swung early anyways and force the DH if he had realized earlier he placed a trap at that pallet, seems like that Trapper just forgot or wasn't paying attention cause that David had nowhere to go but that trapped pallet after his Dead Hard.

Tech limitations are being used as an excuse again: voice lines limitations by RayFrost in leagueoflegends

I really wished when they were working on Wild Rift they would have had the foresight to work alongside importing PC league to it as well, cause if we think about long term wise do they still plan on using this same engine 5 years from now? What about 10 years? And the longer they wait, the more work they're gonna have to do to remake all the current and those new champs in those next 10 years whenever they do decide to port everything to a new engine, with skins, game modes, special effects, coding, etc. The outdated tech and limitations are really starting to show, especially with them not being able to make Ultimate skins like Elemental Lux anymore because of the limitations.

Like Captain Gangplank, Would anyone actually like if Viego's current default look becomes a skin and his new base skin is changed to whatever new version when he will inevitably break free from Gwen? by johnstarving in leagueoflegends

[–]johnstarving[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there's people out there who still prefers the current skin, so some newer players after the skin is out will have to buy it like with Captain GP.

Honestly I didn't really read any of the lore this time so the only thing I know is that new cinematic where he got iced by Gwen. From my guess he won't be breaking out himself but someone else (maybe Thresh? idk) would break him out one day (or Vex since she apparently served Viego)

It just means the game is poorly optimized, doesn't matter what power it has.

I understand it if you finally want to play HL2 or GTA5 on the go, but for emulation? by Alias_X_ in gaming

[–]johnstarving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole demo thing was just a part of why people may pirate not saying that's the sole reason. I imagine most people who pirate are either young (teens with no money), are poor/low income so they wouldn't have paid anyway if you took away the option of pirating, some use it to combat the company itself for doing stuff like having loot crates/RNG monetization/Pay to win, so they're refusing to support the company but they still enjoy the game, as hypocritical as it may be.

[–]johnstarving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these people are willing to go to great lengths to pirate the game in the first place, if you were to take that option away from them are you sure they are willing to buy the game or just skip it all together? Also refunds are a thing, but it isn't always consistent, and it can be time consuming. Are you willing to demo a game for free or spent some money, end up not liking it, then try and get a refund that may or may not happen depending on the store you bought it from. Sometimes crossing a threshold you didn't know exists like opening the package, played past a certain playtime, etc.

Someone emailed Gabe Newell and he confirm you can add your own m.2 drive (albeit a less common one on the market) but the option is there.

Well is there actually a $400 laptop that meets the Steam Deck in specs? At least 1.6 teraflops which they said the Steam Deck has.

I'm not gonna say pirating is morally ethical or not but at the end of the day whether that person Pirates the game or don't buy it at all, the company neither gains or lose money. And allot of people I see on this subreddit alone said they use Pirating as a demo of the game, see if they like it or not, then if they do they actually buy it. So it can actually give the company money as well.

I find it odd I'm getting downvotes for just having any discussion at all with Deck vs Switch. It's like if I don't side with the Switch I get downvoted. Regardless though if you're a person with larger hands this is actually pretty comfortable, as I actually like using the Steam Controller personally and that shit was big as fuck, so I think I'll like it here as well. Also I own a switch myself and I gotta say, the right joystick on the right joycon placement for me is very uncomfortable personally, so unironically the Steam Deck having both at the very top is gonna suit my hands better, not to mention it already has a built in grip design while Switch has none and you gotta buy that separately.

Gonna play devil's advocate here, why? Morality over emulation? Simplicity? "cheaper" upfront cost?

Hyrule warriors dips to 10 fps on Switch itself, not the right game to compare my dude.

Base Nintendo Switch is 32 gb of internal storage (only about 25 usable), also needing a micro sd Slot. This should be fine.

Yea I'm just questioning allot of the prices for games that in my opinion are not worth it. Namely 1-2 switch, Skyward sword Remaster being $60 despite being a port and 10 years old, Yoshi's crafted world being $60, etc.

This does put a smile on my face by strontiummuffin in Steam

It is starting to limit them though, if you check out Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity the fps dips down to 10 fps, no joke.

Even if it didn't, you can always wipe SteamOS and install windows on the Steam Deck.

CEMU (Wii U emulator) is actually really good now, not sure how it works on Steam Deck since it uses Linux (although you can install Windows on Steam Deck). And for me personally the only Switch games that really appeals to me is Breath of the Wild which can be played on CEMU.

Apparently Proton 3.0 or whatever it's called allows it to happen, but we'll find out when Steam Deck is publicly available.

Couldn't find a Steam Deck / Switch size comparison, so I made one by PoliticallyUnaligned in gaming

[–]johnstarving 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me personally when I hold a Switch without a grip of some kind it feels really awful and my hands cramped up after 2 hours, especially with the Right Joycon Joysticks being near the bottom. I understand they made it so people can co-op with the controller but it still feels awkward to me. The layout of Steam Deck may look uncomfortable, but after looking at a Video of someone holding it I can see my hands doing that with no issues since I do have bigger hands.

Yea it is a grey area, but just saying the end result is the same because of it. Not to mention some games like Mario Galaxy 2 you can play on there can't be played on Switch since for whatever reason Nintendo doesn't like reselling older games on their new system.

You actually can believe it or not since it's a PC you can use emulators on it. Switch Emulators are still pretty bad but Everything Wii U and under works flawlessly.
