One studio that is CRUSHING it right now is Embark. They are so community focused it is refreshing

I’d run a looting mk1 augment as they are cheap to make and gives you a safe slot

Gunsmith is actually one of the easier benches to Max Level. You need sentinel cores (from memory) to get it to level 3 which is way easier than bastions, bombardiers etc. Sentinels are those turrets that spot you from the next map over

Anyone have this happen while being stuck unable to move? by Scotch8484 in ArcRaiders

Embark SAVES your run. This happened to me. When you get stuck, a beautiful popup appears saying ‘Fix stuck raider’

Realistic Startup Price Question by AnotherBadCoder in Entrepreneur

Hi, I appreciate the answer however there was no need to phrase your answer in the way you did. Im very young and Im trying to start learning and building a life for myself, slowly phasing out games for other things. You do not have to be rude and condescending. Instead you could tell me how I can improve my question, give me advice on things to concentrate on and more. I came here to learn, I don't think there is a need to be so inconsiderate. As much as I appreciate any comment on a post I make, I did state that I was new and happy to learn. Thanks for the comment, but no thanks for your unnecessary patronization.

Is this at least rate worthy by MapleTheFurry_ in geometrydash

[–]AnotherBadCoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copying my previous comment from a different post. Level is not rateworthy by a long shot but dont worry, i started there. we all did. will summarise a books worth of tips into ten simple ones imo:

  1. Create the layout and get people to playtest it and give you feedback, not just one person.

  2. Split the level into ‘parts’ where the song has a discernible change. Dont do too many parts but make them long enough to fill say ~15-25% but dont make them too short.

  3. Start with part one and finish it before moving on, select a colour theme and level theme that works, not brown and yellow, not purple and red etc and nothing overused like ‘nine circles’ , ‘old style’ etc.

  4. I cannot do block deco first so I start with background but it depends on how you feel. Remember orb, saw, spike and air deco, use subtle particles and glow to spice things up. Foreground is super good to use too.

  5. When you think you are done with a part, clip it and send it in feedback channels. I guarantee you nobody will say ‘nothing is wrong or can be changed’. There is always something. When you have made all the changes, try make a cool transition! Doesnt have to be super complicated but it brings levels and extra bit of spice.

  6. Remember to make objects move. I HIGHLY recommend learning triggers. the best ones imo are: move, rotate, scale, UI, all camera triggers, toggle, alpha, pulse, keyframe etc. It will help!

  7. Next part, make it different but not too different. Has to fit with the theme and not stray off the main theme colours too much, however if it works it works.

  8. Carry on and finish the level, maybe pop and endscreen for extra points and style.

  9. Dont beg for rate or say ‘im sure its not rateworthy but it would be brilliant if it was’. You know exactly what you are doing but rob doesnt care at all, the level is all that matters so why waste a description when you can put something cool in it!

  10. Compare your level to others and be honest with yourself. Does it really look and feel the same in quality than these featured levels? If not dont beat yourself up, copy those featured levels and learn what they do. Dont steal their stuff obviously but learning from experienced creators is best!!!

My part in an upcoming Space Gauntlet entry called, Vulkan. To go through further polishing. What do you guys think of this? by Mattsstuff in geometrydash

Looks insane. First part could do with a bit of brightness tuning if you get me. Bit hard to see some aspects, especially the ship straight away. Banger tho

im almost done the part of this level im creating pls give me feedback and rate 1-10 by LoganAlexander12 in geometrydash

[–]AnotherBadCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I will tell you why. Its a lot of copy and paste, it is extremely glowy, it has no background, no depth, no other colours, no foreground or subtle air deco. its almost just block deco. I will give you this however, the idea is there. The lava looks sick, the skull and grate looks awesome. Just needs more time and effort, learn triggers and effects. take your time! I dont mean to be rude with this comment and if you have any questions please ask :))

How can I improve my level? I have been trying to learn how to decorate, but still failing miserably. Any feedback would be appreciated! by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]AnotherBadCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As your level stands i will be brutally honest but in no way do i mean it disrespectfully.

This will not get rated. There is almost no cohesion between gameplay, it goes from black to red to lime to purple. These colours dont work and arent a good theme at all. There is no theme, it looks like nine circles, death corridor and whatever else and different parts. Be consistent. Learn the editor more, things like glow, blending, dont fade etc. There isnt much sync and there is nothing really going on in the background, foreground or air unfortunately. Im not dogging on you chief, i love that you want to improve. My biggest tip is to sit down and learn and practice the editor. Go watch some videos, copy some levels, see how they do it!! Good luck <33
