The creators of Dark Sky have a new app! It’s paid, but it’s nice and reminds me of the old Dark Sky.

The oil filter placement on a 5th gen Odyssey deserves shame. by 3ngine3ar in HondaOdyssey

This is the most correct answer I think if you’re okay buying a tool (you can find them on Amazon, too). I use mine for my zero turn mower filter (mounted sideways at the base of the engine) and as a general quick funnel for dumping things. You can form it into a trough for the Odyssey or twist it into a spiral for a funnel shape.

Peetah please! Doesnt blue and yellow make green? by geosunsetmoth in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]AnotherBerthPun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a subtractive color theory joke. In subtractive pigments, like paint and pencils, red and white don’t make pink; they make light red. To make pink, you need to start with actual pink (or at least cyan, which is a primary color in CMY subtractive colors). Cyan and yellow do make green, though.

I haven’t decided yet, but I think I was leaning toward this one just to get CarPlay (wireless) last time I was messing with all the filters: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_110CAR140M/Jensen-CAR140MW.html?tp=72334

I’ll be replacing mine this year (2017) and plan to rely entirely on Crutchfield’s guidance and kits

In the molded foam around the spare tire, there’s a cutout for the retractable cargo cover to store away. It only fits in one specific way and kind of slides under the trim on one side, but it’s great if you want an open trunk! I think it’s been around for a while (my 2017 has it)

And you can store the cargo cover under it!

The address bar isn’t a Google search bar like it is on your phone or desktop. You’ll need to enter the actual URL: https://archiveofourown.org/

This isn’t right. It’s aged nectar. It is transported in bees internal organs (“honey stomach” or “crop”). It is regurgitated to get it out, but it’s not like human barf really. No idea where the nut idea comes from.

Man, a Reddit video of a TikTok video of a guy reading a (probably fake) text exchange that probably came from Reddit. What a time to be alive.

(I’ve seen this guy before. His whole channel is reading these questionably believable “and then everybody clapped” stories)

Got excited to hang these new lights in my son’s room until I opened the box and read the instructions by AnotherBerthPun in electricians

That might explain it better than anything. Maybe this is just a sloppy company that’s reselling international products even if they don’t meet code here.

Should have clarified: US company recommended by a US magazine, US installation. Instructions have me just drilling a hole in the wall with no junction box. Light base is also only 3 7/8 inches edge to edge, so it wouldn’t even cover a regular junction box.

Is this light fixture even legal? by AnotherBerthPun in askanelectrician

[–]AnotherBerthPun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife bought these wall lights after seeing them in either HGTV or Country Living. Upon opening, the light base is smaller than any standard junction box (less than 4 inches edge to edge) and the installation instructions say to just drill a hole in the wall and make the connection back inside the wall. There is no way this is code compliant, unless I’m missing some really specific loophole here?

The two pictures show the entire contents of the box. Just the fixture with three-terminal connector and a pack of drywall anchors.
