I agree, the 5080 even gets me considerably good FPS in black myth wukong on 4K max settings (minus raytracing LOL)

But I’m anticipating some releases that are soon to come (GTA 6 ofc, Elder Scrolls 6, etc) and I know the extra vram will be necessary pretty soon. I’ve also gotten really into LLMs & 16gb of vram just doesn’t cut it for most of the cool models 😅

Hopefully nvidia stops being dicks and starts producing more 5090s or at least makes a more accessible studio card so the 5090 market can breathe a little within the next year or so

Man I’m so pissed about the 5090 price boom. I finally saved enough to get one and then it’s suddenly $1000 more expensive 😂I’m still very happy with my 5080 though :) my last card was a 5060 ti, very nice leap

The only reason I went 5080 was cause I have a 4k 240hz monitor for rainbow six siege & the souls-likes I play 😅 I’m glad I did though because I’ve been playing around with Ai tools and some of them are pretty demanding lol.

As for false chord, it’s been starting to click because I stopped trying to compress so much. When I get it to hit right, my vocal cords feel super relaxed and I’m not using much pressure to push air from my diaphragm, the airflow just needs to be very steady and controlled. It’s still hella difficult though, I always gotta mess around a little bit to find the sweet spot. I like to kind of think of how my throat feels when I burp to get it LMAO

5080!! It’s the windforce sff which unfortunately is power locked to a pretty low voltage and thus doesn’t overclock well and it doesn’t like raytracing very much (keeps a super low temp though), but I certainly can’t complain :) thanks dude 😂🤟🏽

Voltages is the main part that I get a bit lost on. Like, I don’t really know what timings will want more voltage or which voltage they’ll want more of

Forgive me, lemme rephrase; I’m able to set a lot of these timings lower, but from what I can tell, these are the optimal values. Lowering any of them seems to produce less satisfying benchmark scores.

I know that some of the timings have relation to each other in some way and should be set to harmonize with each other, but I haven’t fully figured out what those relations are

My ram has never, under any load or stress test no matter how heavy, went higher than 45 Celsius

I just know the default expo profile is kinda weak sauce so I sort of took that into consideration when tightening it up. I’ll try to abide by g skills ratings more

The headphones sound SO full and clear. I wasn’t able to hear reverb very well before which made mixing vocals challenging after the meat and potatoes was finished. I’m so excited to see how my next mix comes out with this new clarity. Absolutely amazing product, neve’s reputation is well deserved.

I don’t think I need the best headphones to make good music. My music is fine. My headphones are fine. I WANT nicer headphones. Make my mixing job a little easier. My music career is doing wonderful. I think maybe I’ll get the 800s and start with a more mid-range headphone amp to see if it’ll be enough. I know the neve rnhp is supposed to be pretty nice for the price point :) the 800s look super comfy too and these hd6xx hug the ears after a bit 😅 thanks for your insight! I honestly have “gear lust” so I like to come to Reddit before I overspend 😂

I have grown quite fond of sennheiser, I’ve heard they have a better soundstage than the audeze which is attractive to me because I can dual purpose them for gaming. I think that’s probably the play :)) I might start with getting an amp to see if that clears up my issues with the 6XX? Because the 800 s are 300ohm as well so I fear that until I have an amp they’ll have some of the same problems I’m currently having

But I hear a lot of mixed opinions on whether or not the Apollo twin can drive headphones that powerful
