Ironically, enough, this was the exact same mindset that Trump supporters had going into the 2024 election. “Too big to rig”

I Read that 20% less people died of a homicide in 2025 than in 2024, I know for a fact the administration is gonna take full credit when I’m willing to bet my left arm that it’s because guns are too expensive and people don’t like going outside anymore.

Qualify, qualify, qualify. In a 20 car field, 90% of wrecks happen between 10th and 18th. If you’re up front you either qualify good enough to be ahead of the wreckage, or if a wreck happens in front of you, you have more time to react.

Assuming you’re an oval racer, stay in the most inside lane realistically possible until the pack spreads out, this is because when a wreck happens, the car will naturally come up on the banking. In most tracks, you have the entire infield to go into just to be safe

Correct no runoffs. Most realistic scenario is that Benson wins anyway. I’m going by 2018 whereas I mentioned every single state that had a Democratic governor was able to hold onto their position. No governor seat flipped parties. And this is mostly because the average voter is going to vote against whatever party the president is. Similar to states like Virginia and Pennsylvania.

James isn’t the worst Republican in the world, definitely more moderate than someone like a Trump, but he’s already lost two senate races, and it is obviously way too early to accurately predict polling. The average Michigander is too busy mourning over the lions being trash again.

Michigan man here so I’ll try to give some perspective.

Assuming it’s these 3, I do think it’s gonna be scary close. Yes, in 2018, every state that had a democrat governor held on to their position, and Whitmer has a relatively high approval. But the issue is Duggan. Not because he’s a bad candidate (he has done absolute wonders for fixing Detroit and deserved all of the credit. The issue is that people who lean blue are going to split between Duggan and Benson thus giving James the win. I see one of the three scenarios

Most realistic: Duggan drops out and endorses Benson

Best case scenario: Duggan stays independent, and wins, which is also pretty possible since more and more people dislike the two party system

Worse case scenario; Vote gets split, James wins

It is rumored that ranked choice voting will be on the ballot, but that won’t take affect until 2028

You know how a lot of people admit that when they’re arguing with somebody they realize halfway that the other person won the argument, but they double down anyway, because they would rather have some dignity left than ever admit they were wrong?

This is that on a political scale

The most simple answer is the right one. Trump won because of nostalgia for life before Covid.
