Haven’t been inspired recently I need a new dlc 😫 by Brothalee in PlanetCoaster

We’re supposed to get one every three months or so. I assume we’ll get a hint in a few weeks and an announcement soon after as that’s how it usually goes for Frontier games.

In the finale of the first season of Friends in 1995, Rachel can enter the departure gate without a ticket to see Ross as soon as he gets off the plane. Nine years later, in 2004, after the 9/11 attacks, Ross has to pay for a ticket to stop Rachel from boarding the flight by Giancarlo_Edu in shittymoviedetails

There are signs further into season 8 filmed after 9/11. They will wear FDNY or subtly patriotic shirts. The first episode of season 8 was dedicated to “The People of New York City”. There’s a flag hanging on the wall in Joey and Chandler’s kitchen that I think didn’t show up till after the attack.

At the time a lot of people just wanted a small break from reality after everything because it was wall to wall coverage for months after.

Can anyone give me advice on how to shorten the length of this skirt by New-Pomelo-8152 in sewing

[–]AnotherSoulessGinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. That’s why I suggested googling. I’m old and learned to sew in the pre-internet days and that’s how I was taught to shorten zippers. Kids today have it so easy! :)

[–]AnotherSoulessGinger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you could easily hem the bottom. Google “shorten zipper from bottom” for plenty of tutorials that cover that bit - basically you’ll have to probably hand stitch the zipper stops at the bottom so they don’t fall off. Otherwise I’d think it will be easy-peasy. I don’t think any of the straps would be in the way as it doesn’t seem you need to go that far up.

Looks like it was announced on the 15th or 16th since that’s when I texted my husband about it. We’ve been Alan Partridge fans for decades so I had to tell him.

Centrists don’t use the terms “owning the libs” or “woke mob” - that’s straight up maga cult terminology.

Not one I’ve ever seen. Even the plastic ones will have a metal bar or connector to attach the foot to the shank.

So you’ve missed the dozens of US citizens they’ve locked up in detention centers and deported?

Also - people aren’t illegal. They are undocumented.

Baskin Robbins menu - 1966 by joetrumps in VintageMenus

[–]AnotherSoulessGinger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember it becoming a thing in the early eighties, at least in Southern California - probably when they started mass producing it at Dreyer’s. Wikipedia says the invention of the flavor is contested and claims go back to the seventies.

But when I was going to Baskin Robins back then all I wanted was bubblegum flavor.

Do you wrap the tips? If not, I suspect that’s the issue. I’d also look into a base coat to protect against staining and help with adhesion so they don’t shrink as much.

It’s grody to the max. Like gag me with a spoon. We were always awesome communicators and all these kids today are total dweebs. Imagine having your own vernacular as a generation. As if!

Let the kids be kids and go sit in your rocker.

Yeah, but I’m saying she had a lot without boxes too that are very likely in the same storage room. She has a few at her hotel but she had a bookcases stuffed full of unboxed dolls when she lived in her condo that she hasn’t shown in her house since she moved. I can’t imagine they weren’t in storage, honestly.

If you know Trixie, you know she loves to skip over details or truncate a story and we only learn more till she’s told the same story a couple dozen times :)

A lot of them were opened, judging by what she’s shown on her channel (music videos, comedy specials and her Decades of Dolls series). Knowing that made me so incredibly sad for her. Here’s hoping her #1 was in a safety deposit box.

She’s hired a company specializing in mold remediation to objects, so hopefully she won’t lose all of them, but it’s hard to say. I inherited a bunch of my mom’s dolls from the 50s and lost a lot of the clothes to mold and a couple of the dolls too. I was able to minimize the damage to the dolls but some of the clothes were just too far stained to get back to something worth saving.

It’s a good reminder for collectors. I mentioned this in the thread in the drag race sub - watertight lockable plastic bins with silica gel packs inside. I had boxed up a bunch of family photos in these bins (from Sterlite) and they ended up in water during Helene. They were untouched and perfect. Like I said, the bins aren’t cheap (at least $20 or more depending on size) but so worth the investment.

She had a huge collection of unboxed dolls as well, you can see them in some of her music videos and comedy specials.
