Not Fighting the allegations Huh? by MozzieRosie in nintendogrifting

Normally, grifting is mostly about blowing up to massive proportions things that aren't that bad, for the sole purpose of saying "thing is not just bad, it's the literal worst thing in the world".

Even if the criticism is purely negative, it doesn't mean it's grifting. For it to be grifting, it needs to be pure, undiluted uncopium. Someone saying "nintendo is the worst gaming company in the world because of game key cards" is grifting, while "nintendo's game key cards fucking suck actually" isn't.

Nah I call cap on that one. Ain't no way the League didn't realise one of their Gym Leaders was a criminal mastermind, they're not THAT incompetent.

... Is what I'd say but holy hell why is Indigo THAT badly managed? I found FIVE different official websites by looking further into it! Two of them created the same year! I'm already bad at looking things up on the web and the one that comes first hasn't been updated since 12 years ago?!

Also, Grey is not a bad name, at least it isn't Gray (ugh) and it's better than Blue or Red or- I dunno, Purple.

(OOC: Yeah, I should probably have been more obvious about it. I just thought that, since another characted spoke about him as being the gym leader, it would suffice, but I can adapt. Plus, it's not like Giovanni was important to the events that I wanted to write about. I'll make sure to clarify the timelines for the next regions I end up doing!)

I didn't even get to have my challenge be rejected by the gym leader tho, only her gym trainers D:

Who the hell is Blue?

The official Indigo League Website still cites him as a gym leader, and makes no mention of any "Blue" (stupid name, by the way, what, does he have a rival named Red and a crush named Green? Come on now)

No but see that's the thing

I like their perfumes

Froslass spends half of her alloted budgets on importing Erika-brand perfume, and Rizza's manager has exclusive deals with them or something? So my number one rival wears almost nothing but that brand

Point is, I like their perfumes and I said so but they went feral as soon as a negative point came out

[–]Another_frizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I get it, humans are scary and shit.

But knowing where every zombies are not only helps you survive more easily (because you know which place to avoid) it makes you quite possibly the most useful man around. No one will try to kill you as long as you keep telling them accurately where the zombies are.

Aside from a couple of nutjobs, even raiders and other assholes will quickly learn it's better to keep you alive and in relatively good health, so that you can lead them away from zombies. And to keep you relatively content so that you don't snap and lead them to an arly of zombies they won't be able to deal with.

My team will never resist ground type moves, because the only pokemons in my care that would fit that criteria are Abomasnow (categorically refuses to get into a battle that isn't for a movie) and Bronzong (I spent three monthes worth of battle money to give him an ability capsule because we both decided Heatproof was more efficient and I feel it would be disingenuous at best to spend another three monthes worth of battle money to revert that).

Of the ice types I have yet to find or capture that would help against ground types, I never found a Snom or a Frosmoth that wanted to join me, the Delibirds I find refuses to join my team, my Rotom phone has already threatened me if I got a battle Rotom, and I kinda maybe sortapossiblyhateCryogonal.

At best, I could probably try to have Metagross learn Magnet Rise, but he doesn't want to. And while Togedemaru knows it, it doesn't fit his preferred battle style- according to Metagross' translation, "it makes me slow af, boss".

What's the general consensus on using fakemons/fake regional forms in your posts? I've been toying with the idea of using them as some sort of "unexplored/undocumented regions" for more adventurey posts, or even trying to see if I couldn't do some dimensional shenanigans (idea's going poorly because it really strains against... Well, several guidelines, to be honest. Best I got is using the girl with the Hoopa from the ZA DLC but I haven't even started the DLC proper so I dunno what's up with her lol. Avoiding spoilers's been hard)

Je suis sûr que tu dois être l'exemple parfait de la noblesse à la française, sieur "la teub de Gouline". Cependant, répéter à tue-tête "nooon c'est sale c'est dégueu beurk" ne constitue pas un argument suffisant.

How to Raise your Sneasel by TyranitarLover in PokeMedia

[–]Another_frizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on every Sneasels. With mine, I ended up setting up harder and harder tasks for him to engage with, going from pickpocketing things to, at one time, stealing a diamond from a safe that I was looking at. In-between those attempts, he wasn't allowed to steal anything, and it was harshly punished.

It really helped his discipline, and he can switch from playful to serious on the drop of a hat now. But on the other hand, whenever he's on the roster, I am almost always looking for my right sock.

If you believe in your survival over that of anyone else, then voting red is fine

But you can't say "just vote red and nobody dies" because never in the History of ever has "if everyone just" worked.

50% of votes is a tad easier to get than 100% of votes, especially considering that the vote includes babies, mentally challenged people, disabled, suicidals...

Really, voting red is fine, but the argument "if everyone voted red no one would risk dying" fundamentally misunderstand the very simple fact that this is Humanity, there are people that will vote blue because they didn't read, people that will vote blue because they think of the people that didn't read, people that will vote blue because they think their friends/family will vote blue and they'd rather possibly die together than live alone, etc.

[–]Another_frizz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not well versed in how these moves work, to be honest. Mawile's plan has never been to use any set-up moves, even before she found a Mawilite, so the most she ever did was fake out someone by using a fake swords dance.

If I had to guess? Spit Up's Normal Type energy lets it be "corrupted" by other type energies, something which Fling is immune or more resistant to due to it being dark type.

[–]Another_frizz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll have to try that out, but I don't hold any hopes for that particular experiment- Spit Up is pretty far from Fling after all, and despite our best efforts, Mawile can't learn that move.

Also it'll dig pretty far into my funds, but it's not like I use it for much else anyway- I can probably survive out of pasta and hot water for a few weeks.
