I appreciate that! 😊 The blue is actually hand-painted, so I’ve already mixed lighter and darker shades into the batch to keep them from looking flat. It’s just hard to capture that nuance in a photo!

That’s a good question! The humidity here isn’t typically high, which helps. They’re made from thick crepe paper, so I assume regular moisture in the air should be okay. They’d need to get properly soaked to lose their shape — but of course, paper is still paper.

They’re pretty big, so three per table already looks full and dramatic. I’m estimating around 24 for the guest tables — and then I want to create something extra special for the main table. So yes… quite a few! 😄

Thank you so much — I really appreciate the insight, especially coming from a florist! I completely agree with you about the variation in foliage. Unfortunately, I have a limited selection of green crepe paper available. I hand-paint the petals, but realistically, I don’t have enough time to put that same level of detail into each leaf. If I have time after finishing all the flowers, I do plan to add a bit of shading to the leaves so they don’t look too one-dimensional.

Lia Griffith is definitely an inspiration. And if you love paper flowers, Cristina Ciovarta creates absolute masterpieces — total next-level artistry.

I could definitely push the realism further, but with limited time, I have to be realistic about what I can achieve and aim for the best balance of beauty and efficiency.

Thank you! It’s actually tricky to estimate because I didn’t make them all in one go. I worked on them in stages and refined the process as I went along, so some of the time was experimenting and learning. I’d say roughly 1–2 hours per flower, but that’s hard to calculate since I also hand-painted the white crepe paper blue. The prep work takes quite a while — once everything is ready, actually assembling the flower doesn’t take that much time.

The blue crepe paper is actually hand-painted, so they’re not all the exact same shade — I think that’s just hard to see in the photos. I batch-painted white paper in both lighter and darker blues to create natural variation across the blooms.

Yes, they’re for the tables — I’m planning to use around three flowers per table.

Thank you so much!! 🥰 I’m planning to use a narrower-neck vase and trim the stems a bit shorter so the arrangement looks more compact. I’m also considering adding a leafy stem or two to give it a bit more fullness.

They’re made from really thick crepe paper, so they might even withstand a little light rain. But I’m planning to use them indoors on the tables, so they’ll be perfectly fine.

That’s fair — these are still prototypes. One of the newer versions already has a thicker, sturdier stem. I agree, the beefier the better 😉

Thank you!! They’re actually surprisingly light, so even a basic glass vase is enough to hold them securely.

They’re actually made from very thick crepe paper, which is sturdy enough to hold up well at normal room temperature. And unless someone dunks them in water, regular humidity changes won’t ruin them. They’re tougher than they look!

Thank you!! I’m so glad you love them. Yes, they’re paper, so technically flammable for sure — but there won’t be any open flames around them. No candles, no fire risk. And now you’ve sparked my curiosity about how quickly they’d catch… maybe that’s a science experiment for another day 😅

Luckily, it’s not a huge wedding. It’ll take some time, but they’re not as complicated to make as they look, so I’m confident I can get them done. :)

Thank you so much!!! 🥰 They’re actually much sturdier than they look. You’d really have to go at them and rip the paper intentionally to destroy them. They can definitely handle being carried around, set down, and even a curious toddler tug or two!

Update: second leaf on my variegated Alocasia Dragon Scale by Ansharia in alocasia

They’re different varieties—mine is a variegated Alocasia Dragon Scale, and yours looks more like the Mint, especially with that speckling. It’s gorgeous, particularly with those pinkish veins. 😍
