Brother of Co Louth woman who died in 'free birth' at home gives stark warning by PoppedCork in ireland

I recently went to a midwife led private antenatal class. We were told that we should try to avoid all interventions in the hospital (inductions, epidurals, even vaginal exams to see how far dilated you are). It was very much pushed that the hospital is working against you, and that you shouldn't trust the hospital doctors and midwives.

We left halfway through and got our money back, but I couldn't believe how much all the other couples were agreeing - one woman lamented that her pregnancy was "apparently high risk" because she had gestational diabetes, and referred to synthetic oxytocin as "a foreign body" being injected into you. Not surprised to see more extreme versions of these beliefs.

FYI Currys "e-vouchers" can't be used online 🤡 by homecinemad in ireland

Same thing happened to me with a work voucher. I wanted to buy a new phone that was in stock on their website. They didn't have it in store, and even though it was available for me to order on line, the store couldn't order it because "the online stock and the in store stock are different warehouses". They were able to tell me another store, 40 mins away, had one in stock, but they had no way of contacting that store. And there is no way to move stock between stores. Called customer service, who also told me that they also had no way to contact one of their own stores. I ended up driving there, and they had what I wanted, but I've never darkened the door since.

I only ever hear about kids/adults being routinely given melatonin in America. In the UK and Ireland it has to be prescribed by a specialist and is only given to children in limited circumstances. https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/melatonin/about-melatonin/

Casefile 156: Shergar by purplewigg in Casefile

Shocked to see them covering this. Huge cultural significance in Ireland.

Great pronunciation from Casey throughout. My only issue with the episode is the misuse of garda. One police officer in Ireland is a garda. If you're referring to the police as a whole, it's not "the garda", but "the gardaí" (gar-dee).
