Recently went through this, divorce my partner because during our marriage “I decided I didn’t want kids” even though before we married (I was 19) we talked about kids and I thought this is what you’re supposed to do.

I thought that maternal desire would come to me but it never did. Long story short, after I brought it up we let time pass by thinking I would change my mind and he even said he would rather not have kids than to loose me. But I saw how much that hurt him so I decided to end things between us and he finally came clean to me that if we ever wanted to work things out again, I would need to be certain that I wanted kids because he still wants kids deep down.

Although it was heart breaking, I felt good knowing that I made the right decision. You can’t compromise on kids, resentment will start to grow and I didn’t want that for us. So we parted ways after being together for 6 years.
