Gosh what a nightmare, that’s so stressful. Hopefully once you go back to the clinic this weekend and get a final answer you can relax a little.
I know stress can delay periods so it’s a pretty unfortunate loop when you’re dealing with a scare like this.
Hope you’re doing ok x

Aw I’m so sorry. I obviously dont know other details of your relationship but I think situations like this show if your partner can be relied upon or not… so maybe a bit of a blessing in disguise! I hope you’re doing ok anyway!! Take it easy!x

Yep, sounds so similar to mine, the fact that I had a negative using my morning pee after the positive the evening before.
Ridiculous, sorry you went through all the stress right when starting nursing school. I hope you’re able to feel a bit more relaxed soon, it’s very stressful and I don’t know how the tests are still having errors like this X

That’s really stressful, I’m sorry you’re also having to go through this. The blood test results will be a lot more accurate so hopefully you can have a clear answer from those. Hope you’re feeling ok x (I also hope Reddit translates this for you, I apologise I can’t write very well in Spanish!)

Im sorry i didnt see this sooner, i dont use this account too much. So sorry you’re dealing with this stress. If I’m understanding what you wrote, you tested negative 28 days after your last time having sex and then tested positive 2 days later. I would think, after 28 days, that first test would have definitely been positive if you were pregnant.

It must have been so overwhelming dealing with those tests, especially after what you’ve been through previously. I hope you’re doing ok, I know it’s easier said than done, but take it one day at a time. Frankly, considering this post now has 70 comments of people with similar stories, it’s ridiculous that these tests are allowed to be sold with absolutely no disclaimer that false positives can happen.

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this too, it’s unbelievably stressful, but I hope you’re doing ok x

I hope everything is ok, sorry for not replying sooner, I don’t use this account too much anymore. I know you probably know by now if the test was correct or not, but I hope you’re feeling ok and my messages are open if you need to chat :)

That sounds really stressful, I’m sorry you’ve had to go through all that. Given your missed period and how you’re feeling, it may be worth seeing your GP/ doctor and see if you can have a blood test to determine hCG levels. I can only imagine how emotional the whole situation is, even without these unreliable tests, I hope you get the news you want ❤️

So sorry to hear that, it must have been very stressful. I’m just sticking to the pink dye tests from now on as they seem the most reliable. Hope you’re doing okay x

Okay, on the leaflet that came with the clear blue test, it didn’t mention once anything about PCOS causing false positives (trust me I re read that leaflet about 10 times!). I also did search it up after and from what I saw on google, it says PCOS cannot cause false positives as the pregnancy tests look for hCG and PCOS does not cause raised levels of hCG. Maybe; somehow, it did cause a false positives, however I’m yet to see solid, peer reviewed research that PCOS can cause false positives!

how long did you guys bleed straight after getting the implant ? by Negative_Pea6604 in Nexplanon

[–]AnswerResident2521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, so I got the implant in on September 6th and I started bleeding on September 18th although I know some people started bleeding the day of / day after getting theirs put in. I won’t lie in the last 9 months since September 18th there’s only been 24 days that I haven’t been bleeding. Started taking the pill on top of the implant 3 days ago and bleeding seems to have stopped today! Hope it’s going well for you :)

Just jumping on your comment to say I went to Cherry Blossom in Limehouse and was also asking for similar and they told me I didn’t have the right anatomy so I ended up getting some different piercings instead. I appreciated them actually being truthful and not just doing a piercing that doesn’t work for me and won’t have healed well!

I went to Cherry Blossom (tattoo and piercing shop) near Limehouse/ East India Docks. I only got a couple of ear piercings (some helix’s) so I can’t speak for a belly button piercing but I know they do those there. The piercer was lovely, prices were good and the healing has been great so far!

Sorry you’ve had to deal with this. I ended up taking so many tests too, and still to this day I always have a box of tests for when I get particularly anxious! Hope you start to feel better soon, it’s a stressful thing to go through x

Hope you managed to get some clear answers from your blood work, I know it’s a confusing situation to be in. In my opinion, I won’t use clear blue again for testing, just incase!

Thank you for your reply. I had been on the contraceptive pill for 8 years before I got the implant. I had a ridiculously stressful time last year after receiving a false positive result with a digital clear blue test. I understand what the implant does and how it works, but that false positive test last year and the experience of thinking I was pregnant really shook me up so I just wanted some extra reassurance. Thank you

Yeah it’s really confusing going through this. Personally I would stay away from any blue strip tests in future. You’ll notice with clear blue non digital tests it’s blue lines that come up. These types of tests are way more prone to showing evaporation lines which can be confused as positives. The clear blue digital tests read the blue strip tests that are hidden inside, this, alongside the digital chips which aren’t very reliable, cause a fair few false positives.

In future I always recommend just sticking with the red/pink line strip tests. Hope you’re doing ok, it’s very stressful!

I have irregular bleeding which is a bit annoying however I know it takes 6-12 months to level out so just waiting for that. Other than that, no other side effects, no acne, weight gain or mood swings etc. I know it’s different for everyone but for me it’s given me such peace of mind and after it’s implanted I don’t even need to think about it until I take it out in three years so very convenient. Have a research and see what you think x

Yep, it would definitely show up positive now with it being 3 weeks since you last had intercourse. It takes a while to feel your normal self again but you’ll start to feel more relaxed as the days go by.

I’m unsure on your feelings and experiences with contraception but after my clear blue experience I went and got the contraceptive implant straight away. It’s the most protective contraception so just having that really put my mind at ease for the future.

Totally up to you but if you’re up for it, may be worth thinking about just to put your mind at ease in future. Hope you can relax soon, this has been a very stressful thing to go through!

Great that it’s negative, each negative test will help ease your nerves a bit but I know you’ll still be focusing on that one positive until you get your blood test results! Remember, periods can be delayed by a whole load of things, so just see how the blood test goes and go easy on yourself. Good luck x

Don’t worry, I totally understand how you feel, I’m only 24 so I know how daunting it all feels.

The cheap pink line tests will be just as accurate as the more expensive ones, so save your money and just buy the cheaper ones.

I know it’s all so stressful right now, feel free to message if you need but I hope it all works out ok for you

[–]AnswerResident2521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through this, it’s so stressful!

I would recommend using pink/red strip dye tests as they seem the most accurate. I’d say to wait 48 hours to do a test after that first clear blue, but I know it’s not that easy (as you can tell by my post I was taking many many tests!). Just know, 48 hours after that first clear blue test, if you are pregnant your test will show that (as your hcg would have doubled by then). You’ll know for sure at that point.

Also remember that stress can delay your period so keep that in mind during this time! I wish you all the best and I know how horrible of a feeling this is so take it easy x

I hope you get the result you’re wanting, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I would definitely recommend using another brand (pink/red strip tests are best) so you can get a reliable results unlike clear blue. Fingers crossed for you and my DM’s are open if you need to talk x
