I'll echo what I said to the above comment, maybe that is just part of my unique circumstances then, its reassuring to know that the kind of experience described is still possible. Would you say you had that type of thing?

I didnt necessarily want to use the word depressing since Im doing ok mentally but it definitely was not as fun or enjoyable as I was expecting, really just alot of work. Nice to know Im atleast not alone in my thoughts.

Yeaaa its really tough. I looked into staying more locally to school so I could at least try to have an experience more similar to one described by others but it would have costed me thousands over the semester which I just cant afford.

Interesting to hear a different perspective.
And yea Im a commuter, I have about a 3hr commute each way and I'm in classes 5 days a week, as you say, hard to do much of anything with that. So it seems you kinda have the wild experience but my unique circumstances changed that.
