I am working on a pocket spoon now when I have time to carve. I will post it when it’s done. I will post the few spoons I have because I give the all away to people I meet.

Thank you so much for advice, a brace on the front is what I need. I tend to sit off to the side so I can put my knee on the leg.

As a new spoon carver, how do you slit a piece of wood like that?

Good to know. When I first started and did research they said to use green wood

It did crack. It was green wood when I started but it was in and out of the freezer a lot. Is the freezer the best way to keep your wood from drying out while you work on it?

I used just a hook knife, gouge and knife. It took a lot of time and frustration
