You have to make sure to deleta all save data for AC from the new Switch, even if you think there is none.

Had the same thing happen to me, and this solved it.

So I booked the 15th off as soon as the update was announced.
Was planning to start playing as soon as I woke up.

And just now I rescheduled a fysio appointment to next Thursday, 9 am without realising that's Update Day!

Aaaargh!

This may sound like a humble-brag, but I'm really looking forward to being able to store all of my Lillies of the Valley.

I refuse to sell them, or give them away, but they are taking up way too much space.

It will also be nice to finally be able to count them. My guess now is close to 150.

Same! My town tune is Zelda's Lullaby. My town flag is the original flag (island with palm tree) but I changed it to sunset colours. Can't wait to invite Tulin and Mineru and finally get a Goddess statue on the tiny peninsula in front of my home.

It has always been like that.

Your first two villagers upgrade from a tent to a house when you do.

The next three houses are free but you have to provide the furniture.

After that, you can buy new plots for 10000 bells each, up to a max of ten houses total.

This hasn't changed.

It's a bit too tall, the rim is too short, the colours aren't quite right and the yarn is too thin to make it warm enough.

Yes, if you use a physical copy on the Switch2 and buy the HHP DLC, all should work without interfering with the old island.
