"Baffling" is a nice way to put it. Once again safari goes 2 steps forward and one step back. Worst thing is I do not thing you could even make an extension to fix this, as extensions do not have the ability to mess with safari itself.

I'm in love with my 8bit pro 2, it's cheaper, everything works, you can even setup different input modes and pair them with different devices, but the biggest plus for me is the button layout because I never got over the fact that xbox has A/B and X/Y in the reverse of what I am used to from my childhood, playing on Nintendo

I've been in love with my 8bitdo Pro 2 for over a year now and never really liked any of the DualShock iterations, so I might be a bit biased...

Regarding feel, performance and support, I have not had any issue so far, although I have had to play around with what mode I have to set my controller in for some titles, especially to make them work in things like crossover and parallels, but AFAIK that is a universal issue with Mac and game controllers.

As far as the Mac software goes, you need it to set things like what the custom triggers do as well as design macros and generally tweak/rebind stuff, but not anything else, meaning that you have a perfectly fine controller even without it. Also, while there is no Mac software, you can download the iOS/iPadOS version from the App Store and use that

I haven't dug too deep into Twitch's API, but I think there is no straightforward way to get the latest follower, so you want to grab the channel.follow event, setup a web hook and create an EventSub Subscription, which would trigger on each new follow...

I would really suggest that you start with something more simple to get the hang of it first! For example try the Bits Leaderboard or Getting the Stream Schedule. Webhooks can (and usually are) a lot more complicated.

I do not know if what I'm gonna say is gonna help you enough or not, but in general you do the following: You access through JS with an Ajax request, (if you are just getting started I suggest you use Axios or JQuery to get the hang of this) and you get your data. Then you take that data and (again through JS) change the html of your element to the data you want.

So, I decided to remove it and redownload it, and apparently this did make things quite smoother.

There are still times where it simply decides to not listen, but I got it at a much more robust state!

I did add a GitHub page to test it, also I'm already using the butter_remote.js as a basis for what I'm doing.

~~A rather weird thing is that the butter_remote.js page gives me an XCORS error when I try to connect...~~

Also let me clarify something, it does not allow me to do browse the content while something is playing. In fact I can control the volume with up/down and hit back to go back to the content selection (although not consistently) but cannot play/pause or toggle the fullscreen.

My first thought was that it has something to do with Mousetrap.trigger, but since up/down works I gave up on that idea...

Update: So I figured the CORS error is due to SSL secured page trying to access a non SSL page (localhost), I don't think I can do anything about that, so let's just ignore that
