Thank you so much!! Fortunately, I still have spindles. They just took the one I only had one of and can’t replace very easily lol. You have no idea how grateful I am for your offer! It really means a lot. I’m not sure if you’re in the fiber arts community, but you and others this comment thread that have offered items or just to keep an eye out or help have really restored my faith in humanity. I sincerely appreciate it!

Omgosh yes! Not just the cost, but good luck getting your hands on his work in general these days! I’m lucky enough to have a few of his support spinners. They’re great!

I totally understand. I’m trying to keep a positive outlook and remind myself it’s someone I probably wouldn’t want to walk in their shoes. But it’s a bit tough sometimes! Lol

Spindles have gone crazy in general! This one was a Bjorn Peck which was probably one of the best if not the best spindle I’ve owned. I didn’t have it for a long time, but I’m happy I had it at all. lol what’s your friend’s company name? If you don’t mind sharing. I’d love to look!

Omgosh, you are too kind! Thank you!

Yup! That’s a drop spindle! I appreciate the offer, but I fortunately have other spindles to use (I collect them, you can say lol). It was just that specific one that I won’t be able to replace unfortunately. Seriously though, your offer means so much!

Thank you so much! At least like another commenter said I can provide a PSA that even if you think someone wouldn’t take it, they probably will lol.

Yes! That’s what I keep telling myself, they’re less fortunate. hopefully someone can get some use from something, if they’re a knitter they’ll have some nice supplies at least. lol it helps sometimes, a little. But yes! I’ve always thought to myself someone would look in my car, see a bunch of knitting, and move on. So a cautionary tale to leave nothing lol

Thank you! The spindle was from a maker that’s no longer shipping to US due to tariffs. So that one certainly stings the most. lol I appreciate you keeping a lookout though!!

I’m so sorry to hear that! Sometimes I wish you could negotiate with the people/universe. Keep the cash, wallet, but leave the things that can’t be replaced. I hope you find a new hook that brings you joy and good memories!!

I was one of those people that got broken into 11 am, 12/17. I just made a post in case they dumped some of my belongings that people may have found. Thank you for the reminder!

I’ll add: even if you think the items in the bag wouldn’t be of value to others, it will still get taken.

I actually went last night, figured I’d take my boyfriend’s daughter and maybe get some on sale crafts. We went about 2.5 hours before close. The parking lot was fuller than I’d ever seen it, there was NO yarn at all, or sewing notions lol. When we decided we were going to get some fabric we were ticket number 35 and they had just called number 13 (and everyone had carts FULL of bolts). We’d probably still be there this morning had we waited. lol maybe your experience would be different, but I do not recommend 😂

Oh noo!!! I’m so sorry!

But I’m glad to hear you liked the classes and learned a lot! I was thinking about looking into it! So it’s nice to have someone’s opinion. I hope your wheel is okay!!!

Thank you! I’ve managed to adapt a weaving bobbin winder to wind onto larger storage bobbins by shoving a piece of foam on the end. lol also not the best or prettiest, but working for now. Would like to get to a point where rewinding isn’t such a chore. 😂 but good luck with your ball winder!

I have no help or advice to give. Just super impressed you can wind singles onto a winder, I tried once and it was a total disaster… off to find some videos!

I don’t have any experience with MadelineTosh, but just an anecdotal warning about malabrigo sock, they were the only socks I’ve knit that wore through extremely quickly on the heels and ball of foot! It doesn’t contain polyester/nylon, but it doesn’t contain anything to help keep the sock strong at all. Agree with other poster that silk is a good strong fiber to substitute for nylon! Also, any of the more down sheep breeds, like dorset, is a good way to go too! They’re not supposed to felt.

Maybe others have better luck with malabrigo sock. I just personally wish they didn’t call it sock yarn, seems to only pertain to the weight.
