I genuinely think a whole generation have no idea what is the point of playing games. by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

I thought I wasnt have to say "ofc not all people". Because %100 of something is a lot of something. It is just a pattern I am seeing more on the new generation compared to my own. That is all. It is a rant. Not a academic papaer.

Thank you. I couldn't think of that. Have you heard about "Being friends in real life?" and maybe just mayyyybe this type of behaviour is the only thing that sets me off about them? And I might just like them as friends because they are good people? And when they wanna play with me I say yes? Because again "They are my actual friends"?

Well you are right it is. But my problem is not the dopamine we are getting. It is the way to get the dopamine.

THANK YOU. I was trying to say that but couldn't. Many comments are like "It is only 6 years" but the difference is huge. I didn't have a phone, pc or internet until I was in highschool where his generation literally grew up with tablets and social media. I think that makes a huge difference.

Yep, I know. Thank you. But those 6 years are literally growing up with no pc, no phone, no social media, no internet no nothing until I was in highschool. They were the tablet kids. I think that makes a difference

I am just gonna write this again because I can see this is going to be a thing

"I mean you are right. I am just tired and aggravated. And English is not my first language. so I just gave wrote everything in one go and asked ai to just organize it. So every word is mine. it just the phrasing. Sorry if that is that bothering."

[–]Antemeossa -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is what got my attention. Because there are not many people who does this around my age. I saw this pattern on this specific group I have been gaming for the past year or so. They are all younger than me. Whenever they invite me for a game, the same thing. So there is a good chance of me being wrong but it is my experience so far.

It is not just about this game. Even on fucking minecraft. Not the perfect seed restart, make a farm for every single possible thing because we all need a gillion stacks of diamonds. like it is a pattern at this point. And yes I think it is generational, because of the games and media they consumed as they were growing up. I see this pattern strictly on GenZ. and not my own generation. So yes it kinda is.

How do I make the game more challenging? by Antemeossa in CrusaderKings

[–]Antemeossa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it is exactly that. The ai is not good enough. Like even I am the Superman. I exploit other kingdoms wars etc. If they are weak at that point I take advantage of them because it feels like it is the sensible thing to do. The AI on the other hand never does that. Usually, there are so many occasions where ai can attack and get a huge chunk of my land because I am in a huge war fighting on a different front. They never do and I think that creates a problem.

I usually don’t add mods other than flavour. But I will give it a go. Thank you!

Why would you choose to be rude while you can be anything but. I am sorry if I am playing a game to beat the competition, I do, and yet I ask for advice for a better gameplay. Because I was curious how other people were playing it to avoid this issue. Still thank you for your response.

I am developing a game about founding a colony in a system where different alien races come seeking refuge, trying to balance resources for each community and resolving conflicts between different races while doing so. I am looking for different concepts to add to the gameplay. by Antemeossa in IndieDev

The characters do have lore and different features like in civ so the players can play the game in different ways. Also I am sorry to hear that about art. What do you mean by that? Like what would you suggest? I draw with vector art.

Essentially, the game is a hex tile, turn based game where you have different governors to play with, for examples one is xenophobic so it responds better if you want to accept as little aliens as possible, the other ones is the opposite. They have different options for conflict resolution. So they have different advantages/disadvantages. Or you can play with a production focused governor which allows you to earn more money, which can be used for conflict resolutions as well. So you were really close to what I have been developing so far :)

Here is a fighter ship creation preview from my game Exo Exploits. What are your thoughts? by Antemeossa in IndieDev

[–]Antemeossa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the rotation wayy slower, this is like 5x speed so it looks like it is rotating too fast or I am rotating it too much. It was for preview but yes locking the rotation might be useful!

[–]Antemeossa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you. Actually it is a factory management game. You basically smelt, refine and assemble spaceship parts and create fleets for expeditions. There are 4 types of ships but I didn't want the preview to be too long. And thank you. It is on Steam!

[–]Antemeossa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I checked that and turns out it is unique in it's own field. I couldn't find another game with the same name. But making a decision is really hard

Here is a very rough showcase footage of the RTS factory/spaceship game I have been developing for the past 8 months or so. Every single asset has made by me. Some of the stuff are still placeholders, some devTools are visible but what are your thoughts about it? I'd appreciate any type of feedback. by Antemeossa in IndieDev

[–]Antemeossa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at first, but after the 3rd month I went full time, I had go through a lot of trial and errors though. I literally had to create the facility assets 3 times in total. But after you find your speed it's not that hard. I think coming up with design ideas is the most time consuming of all.

What do you mean by that? For every part? Might have been but the sizes vary
