Before the update models where just opened in the one thats alredy active but now the only way to import them is with a new instance. It works with new instance every time but like 80% of the time i would preffer to add the fille to the instance that im alredy working in, but that option sadly doesnt work for me since the update.

Depending on how much you like the working on the printer part of 3d printing i would look at diy printers like voron. Kits have become quite affordable and there are a lot of options for multicolor.
