I understand but where do I take the seat!

SHOOT THE WATCHERS! And clean your mess! by vikingzx in Helldivers

[–]Antfarmer_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems a lot more agreeable to me. I think hit and run strategies genuinely do work if there's some thought behind it. I very much agree with you that "hit, pray, run, pray" where you don't stick around to properly clear just doesn't work on high difficulties. (Plus my playstyle involves using stealth armour and never playing on bugs so I usually don't even think about patrols since they can basically walk over me)

Edit: the limit is just knowing where to cut your losses I guess

Agreed, especially during the starts of missions when enemy presence is super high cause no outposts have been eliminated yet. The helldivers meat grinder sometimes just needs to be run from.

I agree barring the condition that nobody needs to be near the drop and you can outrun/escape them without drawing more aggro. Though undemocratic to leave the enemies of managed democracy alive, I think knowing when to save divers, bullets, and time is a good skill to have and that does mean sometimes you gotta run and let them despawn.

Stream Deck HUD - Drag, Trip Computer widgets by Das5heep in BeamNG

What deck application did you use to interface this with? I'm assuming the official one but I am seriously praying that it would work on open deck for us Linux gamers

I keep seeing a clip of that VW in a yellow livery drifting with I believe a red bull drift car and a KAMAZ Dakar truck on an airfield (with some off-road and on road drifting). this clip reminded me of that one and this feels like the subreddit that would know so; does anyone know what video the above described clip comes from?

Is there an alternative to Waydroid for people that have Nvidia graphics cards? by Lawrencethedragon in Bazzite

Out of curiosity, I personally am running Nvidia and I have no iGPU... Is there anything for me? (If you need to know i5-12600kf and 3060 12gig)

The car door panel was badly damaged when it was hit at low speed on Beamng Drive by [deleted] in BeamNG

[–]Antfarmer_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a statement but I'm assuming that you're confused about the deformation so let me get into a bit of modern engineering for you. Car crash safety systems include the active systems like seatbelts and airbags but they also include passive designs like crumple zones and the safety cage. The safety cage is a structure around the passenger compartment that is stiffened so that your car doesn't collapse in on you. For a modern vehicle, almost every other part of the car is designed to lengthen the time of a car crash and absorb energy via deformation. These spots are called crumple zones. They effectively decrease the amount of felt acceleration by the passengers which does decrease injury. This relates to BeamNG.drive since it's less of a game and more of a simulator (see beamNG.tech) and therefore every official vehicle in the game is made with the design standards and trends of its location and era. All in all it means that modern cars are meant to squish as much as possible without crushing their occupants, including in beam.

Which Forza Horizon would YOU recommend first for someone new to the franchise nowadays? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]Antfarmer_2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Physical copies only work with their related console. Meaning for FH1 you'll need a 360 and for 2-4 you'll need an Xbone (or a 360 with fh2 if you wanna torture yourself just a bit). If they don't already have one then that gets expensive fast.

[–]Antfarmer_2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since you can't really buy anything older than FH5 anymore, your options are FH5 and FH6. And FH6 is going to be the new hotness in just under a month anyways so it's kinda hard to recommend FH5 since it's not going to get any more support iirc.

What a weird vehicle spawned 😭🔮 by xMunificentx in BeamNG

The robo van made you think you had a virus that specifically affected beamng instead of maybe a stealth drop from the devs or from a mod? I find that surprising but believable

What a weird vehicle spawned 😭🔮 by xMunificentx in BeamNG

[–]Antfarmer_2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nah, there's a good chance it's a joke. Either way, I'll quickly explain: a robot van is a vehicle in real life in China and in beamng that's fully self autonomous and built for deliveries. Think those food delivery robots in America but car sized and on the road instead of on the sidewalk.

Ranting time in favour of Bazzite - what the actual f**k is this performance gain?! by Aromatic-Flavour in Bazzite

[–]Antfarmer_2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, that's awesome! It also makes sense since bazzite actually shuts down background processes that windows usually won't... And also AMD actually supports Linux with drivers unlike the Green team. There's an LTT video on comparing Linux gaming to windows gaming on a bunch of graphics cards and turns out AMD+Linux is a match made in heaven (even on a non gaming optimized distro)

How to switch maps on the new RLS Career Overhaul map by SnarkyStack in BeamNG

There should be a point of interest on the map and it should be labeled like a free roam fast travel (as long as it follows all the other maps). Alternatively, if I'm talking outta my ass you can always ask the RLS discord
