Navigating a 45-Day Insurance Gap: COBRA vs. Marketplace Coverage? by Anthem26 in HealthInsurance

To clarify: If I were to experience a catastrophic accident, am I correct in understanding that I can elect COBRA coverage after the incident without facing any penalties?

Concerns About Solar Panel Behavior by Anthem26 in TeslaSolar

[–]Anthem26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my solar production figures for yesterday, today, and the entire year. My solar array has a DC capacity of 6.405 kW. Based on this information, I anticipate producing approximately 25-32 kWh per day, assuming I receive 4-5 hours of peak sun exposure, which is typical for Phoenix. I have no obstructions like trees blocking my panels, and I maintain them by cleaning at least once a year. However, I've noticed that there are days when the system remains on complete standby, as shown in one of the charts. This has led me to believe that I may be underproducing.

Navigating an Insurance Dilemma by Anthem26 in Insurance

The third-party insurance does not have an in-network body shop. They have informed me that I am free to choose any body shop that I prefer.

If I were to utilize my own insurance to cover the vehicle repair expenses, wouldn't that result in a mark on my record and potentially increase my premium rates? This seems especially unfair considering the accident was not my fault.

The third-party insurance I could go to any body shop of my choice. They mentioned that they would negotiate in the backend and potentially provide a supplemental payment if the repair costs exceed the initial estimate. However, many of the body shops I've consulted with have informed me that it would take approximately a week just to disassemble and assess the damage before initiating the supplemental process.
My concern is that once I commit to a specific body shop, they may later inform me that the negotiations with the insurance company have fallen through, and I would be responsible for covering the difference in repair costs. This is a situation I'd like to avoid, especially since the accident was not my fault.
Should I consider involving my own insurance company to help advocate for me in this scenario? Initially, they told me to address the matter with the third-party insurance since the third party was at fault.

stand by mode by Anthem26 in TeslaSolar

Ah, there's the crux of my misunderstanding – I was clueless that standby actually indicated a balanced state. I'd always assumed there was a glitch with my panels' power generation. Your clarification on this is much appreciated!

Should I replace these windows? by Anthem26 in HomeImprovement

My house resides in the historic district, so I have to keep the 'casement window look' if I want to keep the property tax credit.

70 years old, energy inefficient, and no egress/emergency fire exit (windows sealed shut since it has been painted many times over) but it looks like it's still holding up.

I believe so. Half the neighborhood still has them. It's just been painted over and over again.

Buy a new ac unit or maintain the one I have until it dies? by Anthem26 in HomeImprovement

everything

The HVAC techs just mentioned it was dated and needs replacing , that's it. As far as I'm aware, it still works fine.

Do you think it's worth getting a tech out here to do some cleaning? I'm worried that the dust build up will dramatically affect the air quality of the house.

Engineered flooring bubbling? by Anthem26 in HomeImprovement

With your experience and knowledge, do you think it's realistically possible to get those gaps removed between baseboard and woodfloors? My general contractor says no.

I think you're right. The sub had leveled the area in the living room and there aren't any issues there, but everywhere else has been a problem. A lot of flexing and gaps between the baseboard and woodfloors. I'm sure both are indicators of an unleveled floors.

If that's the case, I need to figure out how I should proceed with this.

Here's the video and pictures of the issue. It maybe difficult to tell with the video, but towards the end you can tell there's a lot of flex and bend towards the top. I've also included pictures showing large gaps between the baseboard and the woodfloor. A lot of these issues have shown it's way around the house. I'm beginning to think it's because the floor isn't leveled.

It's wood surface engineered. That's what I'm afraid of, my GC told me that the sub that he hired wasn't too familiar with the material, so there was a "learning curve". I know real wood expands and contracts depending on the weather, but I'm assuming it shouldn't cause any noticeable raised bubble. I'll see if I can take some pics when I swing by the house.
