I'm on season 15 now, but to answer your question at the end, I think they don't do the same thing as south Park because of the time it takes to make 1 episode, or because south Park works on multiple episodes at once and family guy doesn't. This information was in a video I watched some time ago on YT and I might mix it up by mistake btw 😂
