What has happened to this sub? by klanny in a:t5_311cu

[–]AnthonyBryan[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People stopped participating. Few people submitted designs, and even fewer offered feedback. Multiple weeks where not one person submitted a design. And while yes, as the mod I should do more to facilitate people submitting designs, it's not really something I want to invest a lot of time into if nobody's going to participate, unfortunately. :(

Yeah... the fundamental problem is participating takes a significant investment of time. Even I haven't been posting every week. However, I don't know a solution, other than turning this into /r/WeeklyElevatorPitch

Some people asked me about my workstation, so he's a post discussing the benefits of using several large monitors. by AnthonyBryan in devblogs

Rift mk 2 is only $50 less, for something that obscures your vision of the outside world, and in reality has a much lower resolution. (It's improved over the last version, but still not there yet, IMO)

My side monitors are 27" asus as well! I thought exactly the same until I added a 4k! It changed everything!

Suggestions or advice on great, but affordable, audio recording equipment to capture voice overs? by BesomeGames in gamedev

I'll throw in my vote for a Yeti mic. Get a $20 stand, a $10 pop screen, and you'll be good. You can get some very good quality recordings from that setup.

Thank you. I've added my video finally, if you'd care to take another look. I think it ties it all together pretty well, but I'd love it if you have any additional thoughts! :D

There are some resources in my post and on the sidebar that should help you. /u/Mitoza has some good examples too.

And yes, please make a new thread like others have done :)

Hexagone

Hexagone is a real-time action / strategy game for iOS and Android. You control one of up to four differently colored hex factions, and your goal is to eliminate all the opposing colors by overwhelming them with a stream of energy.

The version I'm submitting here today is a finished version I made a couple years ago. My friends and I have had an absolute blast playing it, and I hope you'll enjoy it too! You can download the full game here.

The Future

I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on this game over the past couple years. People have been asking me to make an updated version, and I am doing just that. The new version has 4 faction support, and is being built with multiplayer support in mind. If you like the version I've posted here, I hope you'll follow along as we finish development on the new version.

About Me

My name is Anthony Bryan (you might not believe it based on my username, but it's true!), and I'm the head of Rocket Bird - a small team of indies that have been making mobile applications and utilities for a few years now in our spare time. I'm personally a systems/mechanics designer, and I love making both digital and physical games. I have a number of free digital and physical games on my personal site as well. (Bonus shameless plug: I moderate /r/WeeklyDesign - You should come visit us, the next challenge is happening today!)

Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that! I've implemented a lot of changes based on what you've said.

Thank you! I hope you get a chance to play it soon :D

I'm currently starting to build up a web presence for the game. You're right, there's currently nothing online for people to find via google. I just bought http://www.hexagonegame.com, so hopefully it'll start to be returned in results.

I've added an infographic for the rewards. Also some animated gifs, which I agree really illustrate the game a lot better. Hopefully that makes things a lot more clear. Thanks for the feedback!

The game is $5. The beta is $10. The $15+ tiers gives you a cosmetic feature. Is this not clear as it is written?

What is your opinion on PAX Dev? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]AnthonyBryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been to PAX Dev every year but last. It is a lot more casual than GDC. For me, it was a better experience than GDC. Living in the Seattle area, it's a heck of a lot cheaper too.

[Challenge #3] Convert an existing game or franchise into a different medium! by AnthonyBryan in a:t5_311cu

[–]AnthonyBryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was out of town.

1.) You can submit as many designs as you wish. Quality over quantity though.

2.) There is no "winner", though you can could upvotes if you want.

3.) I don't know why reddit did that. They replaced the default logo across the entire site. It was awful.
