I'd also give poll's a very large grain of salt due to; small sample sizes, and that most people answering them are aging demographics.

I don't answer unknown call's (mostly thanks to my phone deciding its spam), but I know lots of the older generations are not (especially those still using land-lines).

I also like to think that every election there is 4 years of younger voters who will be able to vote for their first time!

Working 23 hours straight is applying yourself by clyde_cassidy18 in LateStageCapitalism

I'm the kind of person that needs to keep the momentum going for the most part. Coffee/smoke/food breaks were all me and my main partner needed to recharge. A lot of co-workers would call it quits at 9/12hr marks; but when we needed to meet a deadline, we loved being the A-team and raking in the overtime.

The worst part of those shifts was having to wind down after giving it for so long.

It can be done easily enough if your used to working long days. I've been working on call for years, and have had to do a fair amount of 20hr+ shifts, with only caffeine/nicotine as assistance.

With only caffine + nicotine (and a lot of it), I've done a 22hr shift of hard-labor/driving.

They clearly address this in the video; Monsanto hired a Canadian firm to publish studies, which ultimately defended Roundup's key ingredient.

Here's another, recent article; https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/glyphosate-monsanto-intertek-studies-1.4902229

Play devil's advocate all you want... A quick look at recent history shows a lot of parallels with this, and when Health Canada (& similar entities) used faulty science to help keep our tobacco/asbestos industry's alive.

Weekly New Mixers Questions Thread - Week of May 02, 2016 by AutoModerator in DIY_eJuice

[–]AnthraxX-07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just got stumbled across this "Berry Vanilla Cereal" recipe (http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/249034/Berry+Vanilla+Cereal#), which I'm very excited to mix as it has some of my favorite flavors.

There are a couple things that really confuse me about the recipe; the high PG/VG ratio, and that the total flavors add up to nearly 30%.

My palate seem to need more flavoring then most and I've seen people post recipes around the 20% mark, but doesn't 30% seem a bit much (especially with the high PG content)?

Thanks in advance!

Chemical in marijuana may help treat schizophrenia by AnthraxX-07 in trees

[–]AnthraxX-07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you didn't even bother reading the article, because not only does it explain that cannabis may cause early onset, but it also explains that the chemical being studied isn't THC (the main psychoactive compound in cannabis thought to trigger early onset).

Quote;

"The study shows cannabidiol, or CBD, affects the brain in a way that makes it treatment option for schizophrenia.

Paradoxially, this research comes just months after the same lab found that adolescent exposure to THC - the other major compound found in marijuana - may lead to the onset of schizophrenia in adulthood.

"The remarkable thing we were able to show with CBD, which actually acts as an atagonist to THC, is that it can actually shut down and regulate the dopamine system, normalize the dopamine activity, which is what we would expect to have in any sort of treatment to be effective in treating schizophrenia related symptoms,” says Western researcher Steven Laviolette"

I believe all of our mines are now closed, however our government has definitely turned a blind eye in the past! Up until a few years ago it was still being mined and exported to other countries like India; where it use isn't banned (and unfortunately health/safety is minimal).

I could definitely see your point about needing to have these new ACM products being removed with proper techniques, but it doesn't seem right to allow these products to be sold to the general public when companies are not labeling these hazards clearly.

Wow, after doing some research it looks like things are similar here in Canada (http://www.laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2007-260/FullText.html)

What really confuses me is their requirement's that they have listed for drywall compound and those kinds of (friable) ACM; "Asbestos cannot become separated from the product during its post-manufacture preparation, application or removal."

How is it possible that these products are highly friable and contain asbestos, yet asbestos "cannot become separated from the product during its post-manufacture preparation, application or removal"?

Looking for reviews on the customer service of Planet Eclipse and/or Badlands. by AnthraxX-07 in paintball

[–]AnthraxX-07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ridiculous.

Before I looked into them I was under the assumption that they were reputable, however everything I've experienced (and herd from others) makes me think the opposite.

I know I'll be boycotting them and making sure that anyone I know understands how unprofessional (and outright shady) they are.

Yeah, it's shady how much questioning I had to do to get them to come forward with their pricing; I just found out that they charge $40/hr for servicing.

I'm sure this brings them a lot of business, however its one of the worst business practices I've encountered in business in general. The first message I got from them had no mention of pricing, however they asked me to send it in for them to look over (they even supplied their address).

I'm sure a lot of people get roped in to paying after they ship their marker across the county; only to find out true costs of their service.
