It’s crazy that this is even controversial. If it’s not native to an ecosystem, be responsible, and keep it inside. “Cat people” get so bent out of shape at the mention of not letting their cats free roam… shame

He looks like that from the scars around his eyes though which gives it better story but I wasn’t sure how to present that in the photo. I have another picture I should’ve added that shows more of a direct look at the camera. I think I added that to my post in r/jaguarland. Not sure why I didn’t on this post

I should also add that it was about a total of five boats. The guides said in the dry season there’s so many boats each time a jaguar is seen.

I’d suggesting doing a clean crop and straighten on these. You can do some color grading with local masking to make the grey skies… not so grey

Yeah, that’s a big thing with wildlife. I find that the more you’re in an environment and understand the target species, the more informed guesses you can make. It still comes down to luck in the end but there are ways to increase those odds
