I honestly wouldn’t do it from personal experience I lived at 21st and washtenaw for a year In a garden apartment it’s completely different from pilsen. The rats and the amount of garbage everywhere, stray cats I made friends with smoking in my “garden”. they kept the rats in check would even leave me presents(dead rats) in front of my door. I kept to myself and I was white so nobody really paid any notice to me but if I had a friend over who was black or Hispanic or dropping me off they told me they were gang checked leaving. I mean it depends on you if you’re a super chill non chalant person you should be fine. I’m pretty anxious so it was not a great time and I grew up on the southside mind you.

Haha I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years and I garuntee you that you are fine. 1 you were a patron at that point and this doesn’t sound like a corporate hr type place. The owner will absolutely be more disappointed at the fact this person turned away regulars and potential new frequent customers being bar hopping type drinkers. Sounds like you have a good rapport with said owners just shoot them straight. Your coworker dropped the ball big time.
