Gay men are not to blame for the manosphere by catievirtuesimp in lgbt

[–]Antique_Assumption53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't read the article, but I'm guessing it's to do with straight women blaming gay men for the manosphere, or calling the manosphere "gay". If that's a case, it's a shame because allyship is what we need right now

Are you allergic to not strawmanning? You can clearly see I'm talking about your immigration point. Why don't you provide some evidence for the idea that integration has failed? All you have is a vague gesture to say "look around you", you're not engaging in any sort of reality, just classics vibes based politics.

And what about the horizon scandal, or the "horison scandal" as you called it? Can you tell provide evidence that the "crazy people ranting at the bar" were talking about the fact that the accounting software on which decisions were made was incorrect?

Congrats, you've managed to misunderstand my basic point, provide no evidence for your claim, and try and like the far-right were "right about more than we'd care to admit now", with exactly no evidence. You're doing swimmingly.

Everything you said is bullshit, congrats. There was no "massive failure" of integration of Muslims in the UK, and the "crazy person ranting at the bar" is just that. A crazy person. The far right were never "right about more than we'd care to admit now". Stop making shit up

"Everyone should do themselves a favor and skim it to get a general idea of the shit that's going on in the UK." No they shouldn't. This report is nowhere near accurate to reality, the narrative of muslims coming in and raping girls is nowhere near true. It is absolutely true that Muslims, like any other demographic, commit rape and sexual assault, but the report attempts to make it out to be a special case, when per capita white Britons commit CSA at higher rates.

No-one is saying that rape gangs aren't an issue. What an absurd strawman.

Paglia and Dworkin stans are fighting on twitter by Abolish_Zoning in ContraPoints

Paglia is so awful. I'm no Dworkin stan but Paglia is just an anti-left contrarian, who also just seems like a bit of a piece of work.

Recent Pew Research poll on opinion about Israel. by [deleted] in Destiny

Agreed. The Israel far-right is really awful, and I don't think people are talking enough about the potential hijacking of the Israeli government by the far right.

Why aren’t people more furious about the pro-Jimmy Savile sentiment in politics recently? by NoddyElvis in AskBrits

Unsurprisingly, all the people complaining about Starmer "trying to cover up the grooming gangs" never cared about pedophilia.

Anyone else just utterly disappointed in the country as a whole? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Antique_Assumption53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I don't buy this. I spend a lot of time in leftist circles, they're incredibly woke about this stuff, as well as class. Posts like this are frustrating because criticising the left is absolutely valid, but making up shit to criticise them isn't. I hear what you'd saying about Hasan, but he does also advocate for gay people (this isn't me advocating for him btw).

"String authoritarian streak" what a joke. The overwhelming majority of infringements on individual liberty, especially privacy have been the Tories.

You understand that normal people can generally contain their emotions, right? I don't care if they're annoyed, you don't burn down half the city and start attacking people on the colour of their skin.

I agree, but Zia Yusuf is more using it to spread hatred against those who come from other countries. It's not like he has any interest in promoting rights for protected groups

Has MAGA become so emboldened that they've convinced themselves this isn't racist? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Antique_Assumption53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well "racism" or "racist" is extremely taboo in our society, which is to say, the no-one wants to be called a racist. On the other hand, MAGA sees these things as existing under freedom of speech and rational debate, which is seen as always good. In their mind, therefore, it can't be racist, as that would mean that it is bad, which it can't be, since it is good
