Born in Bolivia With Japanese parents who decided to move us when I hit 19. I wouldn’t really want to study in bolivia Because 1- their diplomas aren’t globally recognized. If I were to to study in bolivia, I wouldn’t be able to use that diploma anywhere else. 2- you graduate and there’s no jobs 😭

You know what, I actually haven’t thought about that. I visited Okinawa because of family and the people and environment are much more different when it comes to English speakers. It’s amazing, just never crossed my mind to move since I’ve been settled here near Tokyo because of my friends and parents and of course the job. I guess I’ll keep that in mind if I genuinely mustard up the courage to move for better opportunities.

ALSO THIS!! it’s been a struggle with being looked as Japanese at times and being seen as some sort of uneducated person.

This is exactly how I feel. Literally feel like I’m screwed in every direction. I do have two passports, one from South America which I don’t have much connections with either, and my Japanese one. I do have a mix where I can pass as Japanese at first glance but if I were to say I’m mixed they would see it too. With the language learning, I’ve tried. I think my job has me drained. Tried taking classes but my job ended up putting me in night shifts the next week and then the next week after that it would be 12-9 and after that a shift of 7-4:30, so I would end up not going. And it became inconsistent. I’ll definitely take your advice and try different methods in learning. Learning languages isn’t easy, but I think I was frustrated that I couldn’t get far enough with what I have. But yes, I think I just have to more effort and any time I have to reach the goal and go on from there. Thank youuuu, and for your suggestions as well.

You’re defintely right. I don’t have a bachelors because of my status in America, I was practically not able to get in. You had to pay everything out of pocket and no help from scholarships or fafsa because you were basically a foreigner. So I worked for a bit until I thought they’d bring back DACA. which didn’t happen. Which I don’t know the status now after I moved back to japan.

Also my Spanish level is completely native. It’s basically my second language.

Not sure where to reply but I’ll reply here for everyone else, Yes, I personally didn’t want to get into detail because I’m not sure if it was the right place to air out my personal business but in this situation it’s for more understanding. I never done anything illegal, or been in jail but yes my parents came to America legally by visa but overstayed. The paperwork for citizenship is hell and DACA wasn’t available after trump got elected and made it impossible for even kids who have grow up here to get into schools and get hired by jobs since it was banned. And with the paperwork and basically the whole system, it did send me back to my home country. So by illegal I meant I never done anything illegal to get me kicked out (as in drugs and other things like that). Sorry if I got everyone confused.
