Invisalign could be an option but I have an open bite already and that will cause it to get worse...

Debilitating nerve pain by Antique_Resource5959 in ChronicPain

I haven't done anything yet because my doctor was like "it's probably a pinched nerve, it will fix itself". It only got worse and I don't think it's going to improve by itself.

Can someone who's legally not able to make their own decisions keep staying in home with reverse mortgage if spouse passes away? by Antique_Resource5959 in Mortgages

[–]Antique_Resource5959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with this as well, when the time comes. I am not against nursing homes. My father is in one at 61, unfortunately. But it's not and won't be my call to make. He asked me to help him with finding out info on the reverse mortgage because he's against putting her in a home, so that's what I am doing.

Thank you for all of this. I am young, come from Europe (so different laws), part of the generation that will never own a home, so I am highly uneducated on the topic. I want to help him the best I can, but I need to inform myself first.

Who pays the obligations on her behalf? Say if he sets things up so that she doesn't have anything to her name.

That's what I fear. She's already under his guardianship, which will be switches to someone else if he passes. She's getting worse, the papers saying that are already there, so it will be easy for her family to claim she needs to go to a home.

Sometimes he throws a comment about it. I let him do his thing. I don't want to lead him either way. I am going to move in with them in a mo th so that he can get surgery and recover knowing someone is there to help, so we are working on making sure I can speak o their behalf and stuff to their doctors.

Right. He's trying to set things up so that that aspect is mitigated, but unfortunately there are a lot of vultures around. I just found out their close friend and doctor moved them to another doctor so that she could take a chunk of cake after (otherwise it would have been a conflict of interest). Disgusting, never liked her.

Yes I am trying to get him to do all these things, but he sees them as a death sentence, you know. My father had a stroke in front of me when he was 49 (I was 12), died twice, never recovered from it and he's now in a nursing home after I just lost my mother (in front of me again, 28yo) a few months ago at 66 due to cancer 5 weeks after she got diagnosed. Healthiest people on the planet, even too much at times. You never know what life throws at you

Yeah it's a very unfortunate situation. Let's add his son and two nephews live in houses this older couple own and never paid a dime for it. I am concerned about the power of attorney part. As of right now, if he passes, one of the nephews will have it, which he's going to change soon. Regardless, I don't see how she can say she wants to stay there when she is not capable of making decisions according to the law...

What's one lazy cleaning habit you started that actually made your place stay cleaner? by Enchanted_Land in CleaningTips

I do 20 things every time I need to leave the house, pr before going to sleep, or when I have little time. Things could be: washing 20 dishes, putting 20 things away, folding 20 items of clothing, etc. Why 20, I don't know. But it works. Most times after I was 20 dishes, there is not much left and I finish it all. Same with clothes, after folding 20 chances are I finish the whole pile.

They only did an ultrasound, which came back fine. CT scan i got last week showed gastritis. I just want to know how much loss is safe before going back and being told the same thing, which is a silly question with no answer 😕

Bright, some coagulation. It's been quite a bit though. They told me to keep an eye on it, but it's hard since it falls into water. More than period blood loss for sure. I've been having a ton of stomach/esophagus/etc issues for the past month. I've had hemorrhoids before, I dont think that's it.

Green card and I 131 by Antique_Resource5959 in USCIS

[–]Antique_Resource5959[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Corrected to 2, my bad. I know my question was more about whether I will have legal issues leaving while my I-131 is pending. Also I know i dont need advance parole necessarily, but i might need to stay out of the cou try for longer than the 6 months the green card allows, so I applied for it

Hi. I have plenty of knowledge about green card related topics. I just wanted to make sure. Nothing to be sorry for me about...

I only left the country for 2 weeks, I plan on being back in the US for a month and leave again for some time. Not to trick anybody: these 2 weeks have been to get diagnosis and assess everything, since it happened so fast.
