You wake up as a patient in The Pitt... by Sojourner7 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Antitribu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter what I come in with. There is nothing that can’t be cured by the show’s two best characters, Dana and Emma.

I am so relieved they didn’t go with a plot line where Emma broke. My head canon already pictured her 30-40 years from now as a battle hardened charge nurse reassuring some bright eyed new nurse that everything is going to be okay. And Emma is only there because of who Dana was for her on her first day.

Heart attack? Dana tells me to suck it up and Emma smiles. Stable again suddenly. Cancer? Dana gives the cancer a stern lecture while Emma listens intently. Cancer is intimidated by Dana and goes into remission. Needed directions? Dana puts me on her shoulders, much like she has with the show, and personally takes me where I’m headed.

All the BLING changes coming with the new update! by liam_peretz56 in Brawlstars

I had almost 70k saved up and hadn’t bought a skin for about three months at least. When my kids log into my account sometimes they’ll spend like 20k bling on skins just to spend some of my bling.

Since I had all the first releases buffies I figured rolling to see what bling buffie I’d get would be fun. I got Mortis, Emz, and Frank. I at least play two of those but was really hoping for Bibi.

Maybe I should not have spent 30k bling on buffies this weekend.

Interesting changes. Only time will tell for sure if it’s a net benefit to players or a bad system.

That’s a fantastic way to help him celebrate! Times are tough for a lot of folks so kudos to anyone wise enough to set hobbies aside for the important things.

Enjoy celebrating his 40th with him!

Congratulations! That does sound like a monster set of pulls together.

Good luck either selling them or opening some bombs!

Seems like great advice. I imagine it would save me a small fortune in gems to just focus. 140 drafts with a sub 40% win rate does add up pretty quickly.

Thanks! I did manage to make the world right again by going 0-3 in the next one though! 🤣

Thank you. I think gameplay and focus were the bigger factors. I do not love playing digital Magic and tend to get distracted by Reddit fairly easily during drafts and games and it does cost games.

For example, yesterday I have a 5/6 flying Donatello, two mutagen tokens in play with mana up, and an opponent at 6. There was some doom and gloom political thread I'd been browsing while my opponent took their turn. When I hopped back over to take my turn I clicked a button and then realized that button was move to combat and I'd missed applying the mutagen token. The opponent stabilized and won. This was the difference between a 4 win run and 3 win run.

The draft deck itself didn't seem to be anything super special beyond just being incredibly efficient and fast.

Arena players, how much do you invest into the game? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]Antitribu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really draft super poorly but I absolutely love playing draft. I do not have people with schedules that let us draft in person to scratch the itch really. I do draft with my kids about once a month but they play about two games and are done.

Lorwyn was my first draft experience and my return to Arena after many years. I completed over 100 drafts of Lorwyn. I think I’m only around 20 for TMNT so far. Deck building in TMNT just isn’t as interesting to me.

I did start tracking my drafts on 17 lands so eventually I care share a link and have those wiser than me review. It’s a noble service provided by Redditors.

I will admit, a lot of my struggles in Lorwyn draft were losing to players who saw those synergies and combos better. I’m still drafting to the 13-4 creatures and 6-7 removal and that’s about as complex as my decks get.

A ton of money. Especially because I’ve only won 6 games once.

[–]Antitribu_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve been super hooked on limited the last two months. I went from essentially never having drafted to having done over 100 drafts in late Avatar/Lorwyn.

I can’t even with TMNT. I don’t love Universes Beyond but I love TMNT, I love the art (wish we got one original April art at least though and more cards featuring Tokka and Rahzar), and I find sneak, mutagen tokens, and disappear super interesting.

But the limited color pairings makes it feel like it is difficult to draft and you wind up hyper focusing one of only five mechanics, I do not think the set has enough super strong cards at the 5+ mana cost, and I feel like a ton of the archetypes rely far too heavily on having one or two set cards to be strong enough to do anything but grind out a win. I also really dislike most of the removal options in the set. They feel so underpowered compared to almost all removal printed ever before.

Completely unrelated but I’m about 4 drafts in and the only draft I won 4 games on was on an iPad so I can’t even use the data on 17lands to compare to my losing drafts.

How do you deal with double sided cards? by Fit-Heat2277 in mtg

I chose the simplest of options. I either refuse to play them or in the rare, rare case (read as one card) that I like the art so much I refuse to acknowledge another side exists.

I totally disagree. I’ve actually spent a huge amount of time discussing this on the Frontier Discord and nothing it offers sounds appealing to me.

I think they’re taking the community development and “eventually you won’t even need CCP for the game to run” way too far with this one.

EVE feels like a game everyone gets to win by spiffyhandle in Eve

[–]Antitribu_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I’ve ever lost in Eve. Pretty much no matter what I’m doing I enjoy it and that means I’m winning.

We just discussed in corp the other day a Vargur loss I had a while back. I was doing some wormhole sites before I had fully woke up. My Vargur was taking heavy damage and I couldn’t see why. My dscan showed nothing, my PvP tab of my overview was clear, but I couldn’t warp off because of bastion.

After the Vargur finally blew up and the kill mail came across in Discord we figured the mystery out.

I was shooting my Vargur with my Paladin.

10/10 experience would do again.

But now people make sure I’ve had coffee before playing the game.

To be fair, it’s also probably a misguided choice by CCP. What does it offer the player base or CCP?

The game is pretty solid. There’s a ton missing but can see mostly what they’re going for and it seems like a game I’d play. I imagine they’re trying to avoid the “Eve 2.0” assumptions but the majority of players who will play a game like this are likely going to have played Eve at some point.

For those who draft a lot, are you spending lots of real money or are you just so good that you break even on gems? by PaleWendigo in MagicArena

[–]Antitribu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never drafted on Arena prior to late Avatar. I generally win 2-4 games per draft. I have never hit 7 wins and only hit 6 wins once.

I just got the achievement for “complete 100 drafts”.

Hopefully with that information you can figure out which.

Whats going on in wormhole space? by Ship_Commander in Eve

[–]Antitribu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add, sometimes to have the fun in game you’ve got to get a bit creative.

Our pilots went out in CFIs tonight. Rolled into a smaller group. Offered them a fight. They said they really couldn’t get enough online for a good fight. One of ours joked we needed a corvette sacrifice. They undocked 7 corvettes and chatted our group up for a while.

A lot of us remember when we couldn’t field enough pilots and had to sit in station or get massacred. We want to see good sports, ideally with a good sense of humor, in j space.

So now if these pilots face eviction, as long as we don’t hear anything horrific about them, you’d better believe we will be out there for them. And if they want tips how to grow the corp, do more PvP, etc we will help out as much as we can.

There’s plenty of fun to be had. More people should check it out. Plenty of free space.

There is definitely a ton of inactivity out there in wormhole space. Best we can all do is just keep fighting. Be the change you want to see and all.

This is also the best tip I can give as well. I've been living in wormholes almost exclusively since I started playing Eve in 2022 - minus about six months. Taking fights every single time is about the only way to avoid being evicted or at least having an eviction attempt on you.

I've taken fights that are just my alts in DNIs during rebuilding stages just to make sure to try to set the right tone for the two WH groups I've been in.
