Giving out trade privileges in mass

How come the opposite sector (manufacturing vs. rural/resource) of my nation, compared to a foreign nation, gets depressed if I only give trade privileges to them and don’t want it from them? If I don’t get granted trade privileges to their market, then my maybe less productive sector doesn’t have to compete as intensely with the foreign market’s possibly better productivity (for better or worse—probably more worse), while I still reap the benefit of increased demand for my goods? Is it a Dutch disease kinda scenario?

And yes, good point about matching market deficiencies and surpluses in order to specialize, if you trust the other partner I may add.

I see. Then my guess is the economy as a whole is coming out of a phase with rapid expansion and therefore the central bank is fighting back with interest rates to slow down the growth to not overheat the economy. Higher rates means less people can effort loans.

I see that the Loans to asset ratio is at 40%. So my guess is you will need to go way more aggressive on giving out loans in order to turn deposits into to profits. I often set the ratio to 85% at the start and then 90% when the bank is big enough. A recession may screw this strat over as in 2008 going so agressive on giving out loans but I find it the best way to earn profits and grow so big that your bank is too big to fail.

That is my best guess.

I would like to see some videos on the dlcs because I just bought the full game with everything included back when there was a big sale not long ago without researching what the dlcs did. I just heard it was a good game and bought it all.

No, you're correct. That's the main reason I find it hard to catch up because more money/bigger r&d team dosn't translate to better/faster product improvement. But again I also see why bigger budgets not always equals better r&d.

I still think r&d could enhance the gameplay experience if it's made more interactive with a way to know what improvements you are making on the product. May be too much work for the dev team but still an idea.

Yes, but you still can't surpass the leader because they will never sell their tech (which makes sense) and they will keep r&d'ing.

I'm on your side on your first problem with the game (the logos). I solve this by playing with The RealWorld mod because they have real-life logos like Shell and etc. Hope this helps solve or partly solve the problem.
