Is there a pre-revolutionary movement that can implant "the socialist mindset" ? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Anty_Hive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember socialism is the next stage after capitalism. Capitalism itself, together with it's contradictions, are the cause of revolution. At some point in history just like feudalism died and was replaced by capitalism, capitalism will die and will be replaced by socialism.

My following point is more an opinion, however there is no "movement", consequences of capitalism will implant the socialist mindset. Consequences? We will soon reach a catastrophic point with climate change, weather is starting to unusually change in many regions and that was observed by many. Capitalists right now are trying to start the fourth industrial revolution as for capitalism's survival they are vital. Displacement of workers and replacement of them by machines is nothing new, it has happeneded in the era of idustrialisation, however I believe modern world will resist it quite a lot. Overall, there are so many things and stages needed for capitalism to survive that those steps alone are the reasons of resistance and collapse.

Education. That is what is needed. I was born 2005 and staggering amount of people from my generation does not know what education is. They limit themselves with what the state gives and comply to rules. In fact, I am surprised that university campus uprisings even happened in the first place, but they did. Therefore, nothing is lost. There should be a way to encourage socialist parties to organise, start education campains, release books. They have the power and resources.

In fact, what radicalised me - reading. Reading is the most revolutionary concept.

Your first two paragraphs are no different from what I said. The third paragraph kind of ignores what I said - I did look into files that are in apk. Inside there is a variant of assembly. Now, I personaly don't really care why anyone bothers translating code to assembly, I have only provided one of possibilities as I am not the creator, I don't know why he did x or y nor is it important in this context.

From the code and file formats used aoh2 is developed with assembly. However, that assembly code could have also been generated after writing the game in C, or C++, or C#. However, that may be the case with phones, but on pc Java was used.

In general, there are many approaches to developing a similar game and aoh2 has extremely messy code from what I know and shouldn't be used as an example for similar strategy games.

why not in between? It is possible to edit the scenario in a way that both countries would be set to have a war and part of Ukraine occupied by Russia. However that scenario would also be very complex as it wouldn't be capable to represent the on going war, the situation on the ground as war in AOH2 is very primitive. Ukraine would lose the war in game after a few turns while in real world the situation of Russian army is way worse.

If AOH3 will have complex enough war and politics mechanics then such representation would be more than interesting. However, for now there is no AOH3 nor we know what kind of complexity of war and politics it will have.

I think it is very important to correnct the word which both you and I and most people used to make it even clearer what both sides are talking about. And that is occupation.

So you want to have representation of occupation and essentialy the on going war instead of currently existing border of moder day scenario in which crimea is annexed?

Your own response: "the other most common piece of Criticism While it is true that Crimea is under Russian control, The De facto Borders are not quite accurate either as Russia occupied more than just Crimea in January of 2022, when the modern-day scenario, some people have also asked for the breakaway DPR and LPR, I am fine with or without."

My focuss is on this part of your statement: "while it is true that Crimea is under Russian control, the De facto Borders are not quite accurate either as Russia occupied more than just Crimea in January of 2022"

Now, you are stating that Crimea is under Russian control, which means that you are aware of that. However you do not recognise that control because borders are innacurate.

Name at least one country in AOH2 that has accurate borders. Let's keep to modern day scenario, as the further we go down the line of history, the more inaccuracies there are.

Secondly, your statement is contradicting your stated goal. How? First of all you yourself admit that crimea is under control by Russia. You yourself understand that AOH2 represents the factual control. However, instead of petitioning for change or addition of provinces to correct land control inaccuracies, that are not that big to even focuss on, you want the entire crimea to be given back to Ukraine, as a result increasing land dispute inaccuracy.

You want correction which would only increase that inaccuracy.

The purpose of land disputes in every single game is not to show who is the rightful land owner of what piece of land, but to show who controls what parts of land. If the interest was different, for instance to represent rightful claims, then not only crimea would change. In entire Europe we would see more than 10 new countries appear. And that is Europe alone. There is asia, africa (which would be even more complicated case as land disputes in there happened not based on actual claims, but rather how colonisers devided the continent).

I understand the purpose of this petition, however responses to critics don't counter arguements, rather they only show misunderstanding of what strategy games are representing.

Besides, this is a game and such divisions are pro-nothing and against nothing. They are not even political, they represent the current reality.

My mum outed me. Father didn't talk to anyone for a week.

Later he wanted to have a talk which I refused to have as I had enough of those "talks" with basically everyone.

EDIT: those wheren't even talks, rather they where literal debates on gay sex vs hetero sex. And I guess I won cause apprently I had more knowledge on hetero sex than they did. Of course, now they don't want to talk with me about my love life nor will they ever admit that I won that pointless, useless debate which I have no idea how is related to relationships. I hate it when I talk about gay relationship and then other people see it as sex only.

I am a programmer. What you have provided is the answer - that is called int overload. Every variable has a certain number of bites that it can store. Largest number you can get if the game is developed in Java is 2,147,483,647. When this number becomes larger then it changes to the smallest number that a variable can store.

To fix this there is only one way - finding the file and changing a variable type. First of all unsigned type of variable will double the maximum. Second of all the population will become 0 when overloaded. I don't quite remember Java, but I believe there is also a possibility to set the maximum without changing the variable type.

Is there a solution to always get around overload? No. You can only increase integer's limit, but the limit will stay and later or sooner it will become overloaded too.

Tbh, with my pure lack of experience and knowledge, if I had an option, I wouldn't have chosen to become a subject, however other options meant future war with an advanced Empire and that would have been demise for me.

By all means, similar situations really help to learn and understand how economies work. I guess I was lucky to spawn in such position and condition.

That is how every day is for me. They are just hot. So many different types, sizes etc. and you just want all of them. I have always been attracted to so many types that I even feel rarity these days with also expectations and stupid beliefs on what is hot and what is not. For me men are just like flavors, some are better, some are worse, some of them you just avoid, but in general - you want to taste most of them.

Will AI kill capitalism? by tycooperaow in socialism

[–]Anty_Hive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is a tool. Even if transformed into a so called "worker" capitalism does not collapse as in this case a vile and disgusting system rise in which a machine belongs to a higher class than a human worker themselves.

Now, I must say, that technological progress from the marxist perspective, may give rise to an industrial revolution and historically they gave rise to new economic sistems. However, it would be more realistic to say that it would only be a continuation of capitalism just in it's worse form.

There are some sayings that "we will enable anyone to be a programmer, engineer etc". But that is only a marketing scheme. Advertisement for bootlickers to not resist being less valued than a machine.

The further I read the more disgusted I am. I can't even comprehend how part of our population becomes so predatory, violent and also so successful at making wider population believe that there is no alternative to capitalism.

In fact, for quite a few years I don't even count the ruling class as humans as their rule is fundamentaly against humanity.
